  1. Stupid Gillis giving him a retroactive NTC before even playing a game for us.
  2. heh, I prefer "Fiberals" but I suppose a rose by any other name.....
  3. He barely beat a worse candidate than him the last time by the slimmest of margins. Course, the Dems can’t seem to act their together much like the Cons here in Canada...so who knows.
  4. Alf said I am his best friend after I gave him this:
  5. He could be playing for the Hong Kong Cavaliers (didn't think I'd ever reference Buckeroo Banzai on a hockey board lol).
  6. @Dazzle That’s the key. A major injury really scuttled his development.
  7. There's been a fairly strong connection with Sweden going back to the Thomas Gradin days (who is still with the team as the associate chief amateur scout) to 1978. Lars Lindgren (who also became a Canuck that same year in 1979) is also still with the team as a professional scout. Lindgren was a solid defensive defenseman for the Canucks. Actually, the kind we sort of need right now. Anders Eldebrink was a offensive defenseman that I think we gave up on too soon. I think he ended up having a pretty respectable career back home in the SEL. Actually, Gradin's contribution goes far beyond the lengthy career he has had as a Canuck. Being largely responsible for scouting (and getting the GM to draft) Mattias Öhlund, Alexander Edler, and of course the Sedins.
  8. lol. Pay *ME* six million dollars a season & I'll gladly debase myself at center ice EVERY NIGHT. I *PAY* Mistress Samantha to 'punish me' on weekends.
  9. Bear in mind, it was a different time back then. When guys like Bryan Marchment made a career out of knee-on-knee hits. Then you have a guy like Scott Stevens who got in the hall at least partly with his patented head shots (which were legal back then). Rome throws that hit & gets suspended for the rest of the Finals.
  10. Money doesn’t mean a lot as we have ownership that isn’t afraid to spend money. It’s the six million cap hit that is the huge elephant in the room.
  11. Let me just say I'm not going to argue with a guy with lots of guns. Whatever you say is fine by me Ryan Strome.
  12. Canes are a 'made man'. That means you can **** with anybody that isn't a made man. You of anybody should know Mr DeNiro. Canucks unfortunately, are only associates. So they get ****'ed when this stuff happens. Fugetaboutit!
  13. After Justin Williams took out Saku Koivu’ eye with an unpenalized high stick, Koivu is just looking to eye anything.
  14. Can you think of a NHL GM that got to hire more NHL coaches than two? Ignoring those GM that had team's which were fairly successful in the regular season and/or playoffs. I can't. Many don't get to hire two before they get canned if the results aren't forthcoming on the ice.
  15. Am I imagining things but didn't we like shell him around a decade ago?
  16. Fair point...I only disputed mentioning him in the same category of LE. Even a guy like Schaller - who I've CONSTANTLY poked fun at, showed me signs of life this season. LE? Does he even work up a sweat?
  17. I hereby go on a self-imposed one hour 'time out' because I must confess, it was I that put the thumbtack on Tortorella's Rant seat back in elementary school. My only defense was that he took my lunch money.
  18. Sometimes the best move to make is to do nothing on that front. I don’t see us able to clear enough cap space to acquire any kind of impact (offensively) player.
  19. If I'm being optimistic, Tim Dunigan would've done just fine as 'Faceman' had he not been replaced. If I'm being pessimistic, are you nuts? Nobody can do a better job as 'Faceman' than Dirk Benedict. NOBODY.
  20. Only got Miller by offering a non lottery protected 1st round pick. We can't afford too many more of those. We need to get better via free agency to get those type of player As well cap space is pretty tight right now.
