He "inherited" Ron Wilson. Hired & fired: Todd McLellan and now Peter DeBoer. Hired as GM near the end of the 2002/03 season. Sharks only missed the playoffs (can't count the 2002/03 season really as that's the reason the GM before him was canned) once in 2014/15. Made the Conference Finals this past season.

You're saying like it's a plus that Louie E never gets injured. (yes, I'm joking. I never wish injury on a Canuck player).

[Report] Canucks recall Zack MacEwen

Still, Loui’s issues is that he just is garbage. Ferland’s excuse is legit. Once he’s on LITR, that solves the issue of the big contract. Loui? We’re stuck with his cap hit. Aquaman can afford it. -
I haven't followed his play after Willie was no longer the head coach of LA; but he really gave Kovalchuk a raw deal. If I recall, he was still putting up points but the AHL coach in his infinite wisdom put him on the 4th line. Of course he ain't going to produce there (and he never was a checker - at least Louie Eriksson was a solid two-way winger in his prime [too bad we got the version that was well past his due date]). But as to your point....yes. If those guys could be put on waivers. Eriksson could.

NHL Commissioner: We will not tolerate abusive behavior

How about Buttman abusing the Canadian fans? -
He's not on the line to be putting up points. He's there to prevent a puke like Matheson giving Petterson a body slam (which is why we have guys like Ferland on the team).

You should talk about near fatal eruptions. How about the time you forgot Mrs Alf's birthday?

Yeah I know. I just couldn't resist. It'll be my new years resolution to be a better person next year. I'm assuming Pavelich must have gotten an elbow to the head (or some other kind of headshot hit that was "in vogue" at the time he was a NHLer) as from what I recall, he wasn't a guy who got into alot of fights....was a finesse type of player.

Salo was legit NHL top 4 D though.

Juolevi hasn’t played any meaningful stretch of professional games in two years. WAY too early to even consider him as a possible call up in the near future (especially since he’s just skating in practice with the Comets right now). I’d put Woo ahead of him at the moment just for that fact alone right now.

re: Burrows ring of honor night: Ted Lindsay quote: "there were some nights, where I didn't have a great game for whatever reason (heh, maybe my skates were tied up wrong, etc.,) but there was never a night where I didn't give it my absolute best in terms of effort". That was Burrows. Boo'd on the road pretty much everywhere but NEVER at home.

Proposal: Hire the Sedins for Player Development

Rather than addition how about subtraction? Isn’t it about time we moved on from the guy responsible for coaching the power play? (Brown). -
The rising NHL powerhouse that Jim Benning constructed

Do the HF boards deserve the Alderaan solution (according to Tarkin)? -
At least one of those penalties was a cheap one but as a vet he should know better (especially since the Canucks rarely get the benefit of the doubt in borderline situations).
