  1. More useless trivia....Paul Stanley was essentially born with only one fully healthy ear....he was pretty much deaf on the malformed ear. I know he had reconstructed surgery later on but I don't when. That had to have some kind of negative impact on his ability. Kiss were essentially showmen/entertainers more than musicians in any event.
  2. Was more or less an “associate” of the Ducky boys gang in his youth I believe. That legit gang was fictionized in the movie The Wanderers”....(NSFW .... language).
  3. Doesn’t count towards the cap and the Laffs have craploads of money (which their GM will no doubt waste more millions).
  4. Ironically enough, Ace Frehley actually had some REALLY decent talent as a guitarist; probably the only one of the original four members that did.
  5. Yeah I think the deferred (from a cap POV) bonuses will be the elephant in the room at some point.
  6. It was a home run. Not going to dispute his horrible drafting (that speaks for itself) but ironically he did draft Horvat with that pick acquired. Wasn't Nichushkin (the guy picked right after Horvat) pretty highly regarded at the time? Guy looks like a bust right now.
  7. Yeah he was bigger than pretty boy but ALOT older as well. He didn’t do much if any training and didn’t take the “match” seriously. Pretty boy on the other hand did. Results were predictable. The bullying incident was an joke made by Matthew Perry....
  8. Well there's dislike and there's being a major d*ck. You rarely heard much of a negative word about the Van Halen brothers by Michael Anthony despite the shoddy treatment he received.
  9. I was merely making a distinction between levels of "evil". By default, I put the Leafs, Flames & and Oilers in Dante's lowest level hell. All others (outside of the Canucks obviously) are in various higher levels of hell....
  10. Depending on how one feels about 'rap music' or that "genre of music", one can make an argument for Blondie being the first band to have a 'rap song' hit the 'top of the charts':
  11. I think also a distinction must be made between the kinds of D-bags. One who just whines or yaps. Those kinds of individuals hurt nobody but MAYBE someones feelings. A loser like Sean Avery...to my knowledge, outside of maybe a little jab here or there with his stick, only had a pretty filthy mouth. No careers were ended with that. Doesn't mean I don't dislike/loath a player like that. Then you have a REAL special case like Brad Marchand. Not like was he a yapper but he went out of his way to deliberatly injure another player. I put a guy like Kadri in that category as well. On another level of "evil".
  12. According to Eddie, Michael Anthony knew jack ****, and jack left town. He had to show him how to do everything. Arguably the greatest rock guitarist of all time, but a real ass (Eddie). Though I assumed he's gotten better since sobering up. Still a REAL d*ck move, removing his pictures (Michael) from earlier Van Halen album covers on their website before they got called out on it. Michael provided more than just playing the bass for Van Halen but fantastic harmonies.
  13. I was only referring to their talent level. Much like EP and Bure were different kinds of elite players.
  14. heh, at least I hear SOME guitar work on that Flash Gordon song. But yeah, not one of their best.
  15. Both were elite at a different side of the game (offense vs defense). Ohlund went toe-to-toe with THE power forward of the time (Iginla). You need both types on the blueline, but I'm not greedy - having just one is good enough for me (and that guy is obviously Hughes). Though even with just one eye, Ohlund managed to score 10 or more goals in a season multiple times. A guy with a mean streak as well. Do NOT provoke the Viking. Mikko Koivu (sp?) found out the hard way.
  16. Canucks’ Quinn Hughes a talent like Vancouver has never seen before....at least not since Ohlund.
  17. Probably one of their worst singles imho (no guitars on a Queen song? **** that):
  18. Shift-4 was a Loverboy fan (and that headband in my attic is my brothers!) ....
  19. Neal Peart - a fantastic drummer - also gave me this Mike Gillis vibe. Smart guy that wasn't afraid to tell you that he's smart.
  20. Another similiar example is Genesis. The Peter Gabriel era vs Phil Collins era. I'm not THAT old so I'm not too familiar with the Gabriel Genesis stuff. I wonder if fans of either are as divided as the Roth vs Hagar Van Halen fans.
  21. Guds didn't look all that bad when paired with Edler. Edler is still a capable top 4 D.
  22. IMHO, the Monkees "redeemed" themselves somewhat when they essentially told Don Kirshner to go **** himself. They could've had probably several more years of doing that 'bumble gum schlock' but what they lack in ability they made up for in integrity.
