  1. Haven't researched it but I'd guess it's a case of trying to clear out a backlog of older cases (re: pandemic where I'm assuming you can't just have 'virtual tv' handling all cases).
  2. COVID/no liquor license/high-end restaurant/economy/etc.,
  3. Back in the 70s, my buddy Alf told me about this great program he discovered in the back of his favourite Archie comic book!: He was more interested in the "X-ray glasses" to see errr....well you can imagine.
  4. That's where the final boxing match in Rocky IV was actually filmed! I still remember the general public casting call for all people "dressed like Eastern Europeans" to fill that arena back in the day for that movie! Unfortunately I looked more like this back then:
  5. I'm guessing the Vancouver Voodoo had greater crowds at the old Pacific Coliseum back in the day.
  6. Me and my buddy Alf are the REAL hipsters:
  7. I don't know why Kadri signed that deal but I think already winning a Cup now (which is the ultimate goal of many NHLers from North America) means that's one important thing off his bucket list.
  8. lol..probably *STILL* doesn't have a liquor license (in the restaurant). Still, it's not like he's going to be ordering from the "value menu" section at Rotten Ronalds anytime soon.
  9. If we only had Mario in Nagano (even Marc Crawford wouldn't refuse to use him in the shootout). He's "money in the bank" (don't care who is in net):
  10. Mario himself got shafted (eg., when the Pens went bankrupt). Who was the largest creditor at that time the Pens filed for bankruptcy? Mario. Instead of going thru the courts & salvaging what he could from what was left, I think he sort of became part of the group that bought the team (owed salary was "deferred").
  11. I've posted the following before: Now as many know, bears literally eat *ANYTHING*. Going thru garbage cans in search of food. Now consider this bear goes into a subway, sniffs around & doesn't eat anything.
  12. *NEVER* use your frying pan unless you're prepared to use it!!!
  13. Only thing worse than Mike Gillis' horrible drafting was Jim Benning's hiring practices with respect to an equally important GM function (ie., hiring as head coaches: Willie Desjardins & Travis Green). Seven years to find a NHL head coach. Old man JR took a couple weeks to hire a guy like Bruce.
  14. Team ain't going nowhere but in circles unless the Aquilini's buy the team.
  15. Bobby Orr's knees would've lasted forever in this league. At the very least, medical science has improved light years since his playing days.
  16. To be fair, I wouldn't call a #7 defenseman - "quality".
  17. Woo seems to have problems just sticking as D in the AHL (forget the NHL) as I seem to recall the coach moving him to forward on occasion (I assume to give him at least some icetime). If you can't begin to dominate at some level in the AHL, you're not going to get 100 games at the NHL level barring a ton of injuries on the Canucks. Even failed longshot ex-Canuck D prospect Subban was an allstar at the AHL level one season (but still lol couldn't play a lick of defense). Klimovich is the mystery box. Hopefully he can make it.
  18. Interesting their GM (Sam Presti) who is still the current GM of the relocated team (Oklahoma City) not just drafted KD but also Russell Westbrook & James Harden.
  19. **** Hertl. It's been about a decade & I am *STILL* ticked off at Edler's suspension:
  20. Jim Rutherford should've just blamed Mike Gillis for leaving him this mess he inherited.
  21. Alot of the "kids" aren't "kids" anymore. Horvat is 27. Boeser is 25. Demko turns 27 at the end of this year. EP turns 24 in a few months. Not "old" obviously but their time is now imho (to stress your point even more). For example, Tanev was 24 years old when Jim Benning was first hired (and his prime years were wasted here).
