Ferland’s contract is worse than a negative since it isn’t insured.

Which Canuck were you wrong about? Good or Bad?

It's the type of trade that worked well for both teams. Remember the Bolts needed cap space & they won two straight Cups after they dealt Miller (and lost in the Finals in the 3rd year). -

It's kind of like how Linden, a winger pretty much all of his minor hockey league career, was moved to C because we had a huge lack of depth in that position (granted being asked to shift from winger to C is a significantly tougher job). A testament to just how good Linden was as he was able to make that transition *at the NHL level* pretty much very early on his NHL career. Or Miller being asked to do the same thing today. -

Peter Nedved actually did but he's a special case. Nedved defected to Canada (this was during the actual cold war days) & played for Team Canada one Olympics. Later, he played for Team Czech Republic in the 2014 Olympics. -

We need SOMEBODY to handle the tough defensive minutes (if you're going to be moving Bo away from that role to try & handle a more offensive role). Haven't had anybody very solid in that since Sutter's body gave out due to accumulated injuries & COVID. -

**** Malkin. Willie Mitchell might be still suffering the effects where he was crosschecked headfirst into the boards by that sack of manure. -

Have to wonder if Paul Kariya was able to compete in the Nagano Winter Olympics; whether him being half-Japanese might've spurred alot of interest in Japan in the sport? Course Gary Suter's headshot to Kariya prevented him from playing. (Might've cost us the Gold medal as well). Kariya wasn't just an average player but an allstar. -

"In a very social job". I'd be just as concerned if person didn't infect anybody (hopefully person wore a facemask or faceshield at that social job since they weren't vac'd).

Paul Henderson was a bit like that as well (re: ordinary regular season career but had that EXTREME bright shining period during the 1972 series). He's like Claude Lemieux....that is if Claude had class. Henderson didn't like cheap tactics, even if it for the team he played for (think he gave alot of grief to Clarke about his slash to that Russian player).

I wonder where he stands in the draft order for the "liberation army".

Think Bowness is better as the #2. Hiring Trotz is a bit of a pipe dream though *currently*. Him, an actual native of Manitoba, has said he's not interested in the Jets open position (though it wasn't really a knock on the Jets organization as he won't commit right now to *any* particular team): https://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/barry-trotz-reportedly-not-coaching-next-nhl-season-1.6502582#:~:text='I could not commit to,commitment to winning. ...

The Claude Lemieux wing in the Hall (located in the washroom ). He was the original Brad Marchand. The anti-Lady Byng trophy leader. Conn Smyth win on his resume . Pretty solid post-season numbers (remember all those overtime goals that one season for the Habs); 9th in all time post-season goals. 4 cup wins on three different teams. But pretty ordinary regular season numbers. Special stall for Kris Draper that will let him use the toilet with Claude Lemieux embossed toilet paper. The place for players that don't belong in the Hall but were far better than just the ordinary player.
