  1. i was respinding to ryp37's comment I agree that meal timing isnt all that important but he was suggesting no carbs after a workout which is actually an optimal time to have them. But again, i do believe just getting all your macros and micros by the end of the day is more important that meal timing.
  2. Also its not one of those "it may not work for you but it worked for me" things. Its science, carbs after a workout is critical to grow muscle on a bulk and retain muscle in a cut.
  3. ya you can lose weight like that but its horrible if you want to retain as much muscle as you can while cutting. Ideally you only want to lose about 1 pound a week so you can retain most your muscle while losing the fat. 20 pounds in two months is goung overboard and you will lose a lit of muscle mass.
  4. Having post workout carbs is actually a good time to have them. Its critical because it starts the recovery/muscle growth process. Your body is severely depleted of glycogen and glucose after a workout. There are two 'good' times to have carbs: in the morning and after a workout.
  5. i understand that but you will have to eat above your maintanance to put that muscle on which will give you some belly fat. A little fat is inevitable.
  6. you cant gain mass only on specific areas, you will put on some fat on your belly if you bulk up (if you wanna gain mass on other areas)
  7. exactly my point, he cant expect to gain weight and get abs
  8. so you trying to get to 170 or trying to get abs? You wont be able to gain weight and lose weight, pick one and go full out on it. Edit: unless youre getting them newbie gains
  9. maybe it worked for him and it might for you, but thats just my 2 cents, i like to stick with the generic ways that most have found success in
  10. i dont see why you would do high reps (6-10) which is to build muscle mass on a cut. And ya ive actually gained strength while cutting, pretty sure it only works if you lift heavy AF and are in a minimal deficit. Obviously strength gains wont be going at the same rate than when youre bulking but anything is good.
  11. i would personally do strength training on a cut. You can get stronger while cutting if you eat 2-300 below maintenance. Also set a goal of where you want your BF% to be. I usually stop cutting at 10%. Little tweaks were probably just so he looked like he was doing something. Just lift heavy 3-5 rep range and keep your diet in check.
  12. why not? He does everything Scores, forechecks, pk, and a helleva work ethic

  14. $70! O_o Probably just gonna try getting some really flat shoes for cheap off ebay or something before getting those
  15. Gym wont let me deadlift barefoot Been in this gym for 3 years and now they enforce it
  16. hate it going in, love it going out haha
  17. can you bench more than you squat by any chance? Lol jokes Theres nothing wrong with benching 3-4 a week as long as your getting the nutrients and rest to recover. But a flaw i see in this is that your muscles will be disproportionate. The goal of bodybuilding is to look good and it does not look good when one muscle is bigger than the rest by a wide margin. What is your goal when lifting weights? Like to look good, lift the most weight, ect..
  18. not an expert or a fan of home workouts but the ones i hear constantly are p90x and insanity. For diet, just keep track of your calories. Find your maintenance level and eat below it, losing weight is that simple. you can eat whatever you want as long as your in a caloric deficit (including mcdonalds, ice cream, ect...). Not sure about your twitching, might wanna get that checked out.
  19. Im with the philosophy that as long as you get all your macros and micros in from the time you wake up to the same you go to bed, you should be good. I usually workout in the mornings so im hungry AF post workout. Most people would have a solid meal after they workout anyways. Also with any study to do with protein synthesis and muscle growth, there's always studies that contradict them.
  20. Any comments regarding brendan yip?
