I genuinely don't believe there are many true powerhouses in this league. Boston is the only truly dominant team, and a lot of their players are on the older side. Parity makes this league a lot more interesting, and things change substantially from year to year.

I also genuinely don't believe many teams have three better impact players than Petey, Huggy, and Demmer. If we make smart choices in the next 12-24 months, we can keep up with any of these teams.

Wit Tyler Myers in the line up? :)

  3. Trade the 1st round pick, package it up with Brock who has more trade value now and get assets  back, the pick is 11th anyway, they can't keep wasting more prime years of Miller, Petey, Hughes, Demko and even Kuzmenko, they already wasted Horvats, gotta try to win a cup with this core in the next 2 to 3 seasons

Would’ve been nice to have a couple extra years to work with if the owner wasn’t hellbent on making the playoffs with a bottom 10 roster.

I don't think we really need to package anything with Boeser, as "overpaid" as he is, he'd have value in the eyes of teams that want/ need to revamp their roster to stay competitive (e.g. Boeser to Pittsburgh for Rutta [slightly overpaid 3rd pair RHD], Hallander [C prospect in development] and a pick would replace Zucker well).

  4. Garbage franchise and city, they really haven't done anything since 1990 besides 1 run to the cup finals, other than that I think they've won something like 4 total playoff rounds, that is abysmal
  5. The Canucks, realistically, are only better than maybe 4 or 5 teams in the league, yet they're gonna pick outside the top 10. Did anyone notice in the last 2 minutes of tonights game, while the Ducks were on a powerplay, they didn't pull their goalie? That's how you get the job done, you know you don't need to win and a loss doesn't hurt you. The Canucks on the other hand, had to scratch and claw while getting bailed out by Demko against a very bad Anaheim team, to win the game. Do you guys see the problem here yet? This organization will always be mediocre until there's a clear direction. A team this bad, should be drafting one of the top 5 players this summer, but they're not, because they got trigger happy by hiring Tocchet, when they probably could have done that in the offseason. If he wasn't available? Who cares? I cannot believe there are people happy about this late season surge and coach bump, none of this matters or helps for next season. Hey lets play Quinn Hughes 27 minutes a night! Start Demko every game! Pathetic
  6. LOL Flames, what a disaster, Canucks will finish 15 points ahead of those peasants next season

Hockey fans need to remember the so called experts going out of their minds about what an amazing job Treleving did bringing in Huberdeau Kadri and Weegar. There were numerous experts saying that Calgay could win the West and be SCF finalists. Lol. Lol. Lol.

@fanfor42 i guess I hate the flames more than most but tbh their goaltending was godawful all year long. Replace Marky with an average goaltender and they comfortably would be in a playoff position right now. Thank god they are not (although a quick, first round sweep would have been also hilarious), but they are not that awful as a team, it's the goaltending that did them in, no question about it.

If Marky bounces back at all, they'll be good again next year.

  7. None of this garbage will matter when they start the season 2-7-1 next season, also all the people happy about these wins are ok with being mediocre and not having any star players on their team, the top 5 in this draft are star players, something the Canucks roster does not have right now
  8. Canucks better hope this "structure" continues next season, otherwise they wasted a crazy opportunity to draft a franchise player in the top 5 of this draft

@Cup_Joneser That's not tanking though. A very poor job tanking, but credit is worth giving to for a team that has no quit. This team has the raw potential to go further than where it is now. Too many 1 goal losses.

we tanked for 50 games i thought

When you trade away our tank commander Rilley Stillman, you still expect to lose games? Notice how Buffalo lost 0-7 last night and is 2-6-2 in their last 10? Sire Stillman is doing his job there.
