[PGT] Arizona Coyotes at Vancouver Canucks | Dec. 03, 2022
Locke Lamora replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
So much drama, here and on Canuck Twitter, lol. Some folks completely consumed by the soap opera. I will say that this management has left a lot to be desired thus far. It does feel like something big could be coming…and I just hope this group is up to the task. Anyway, I find myself is awe of what is happening with Horvat before our very eyes. To goal totals themselves are almost surreal to look at…but its this ELITE net front tipping ability that really gets me. Where did this come from? Makes me think we should make Bo the de facto net front guy. Dude is built like a tank and he can’t be moved easily from the crease. No doubt the contract situation - and in my opinion the measure of disrespect he’s been shown by management - has given him an extra boost of motivation, but I also think this shows how what kind of “ethic to improve” Bo has in his approach. Well documented was his skating improvement early on. He’s clearly become one of the best face off men in the league. And now the clear evidence that he’s put in another effort to improve his shot and finishing - and the ridiculous hand eye with the deflections. Just an all round impressive player and person. I think he’s got virtually no shot to match the Bure and Mogilny season goal totals (60,55) but I think he has a chance to equal or surpass Naslund and Bertuzzi’s best years (48, 46) and I hope he remains here so that we may see it in OUR jersey, not another one. Despite what’s happening I’ll continue to watch every game, like I always have. -
[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at San Jose Sharks | Nov. 27, 2022

I really feel bad for Podzkolzin. Not only has he lost his spot as a regular in the line up, but his former teammate in the KHL has come over and completely stolen the spotlight. I’m sure Podz isn’t petty and is happy for Kuzmenko…but this still must sting quite a bit. -
I recognize in myself a base instinct to “protect my team” and this might colour some of my thinking in regards to Ms. Doerrie. But in reading up a bit more about Ms. Doerrie over the past 24 hours I can’t help but get the impression that she’s a bit of a self-important twit. Probably a case of good riddance. But its also a case, as others have said, of whether or not Jim Rutherford’s judgement should be a concern. The red flags around this woman seem pretty obvious in hindsight.

I had a long post ready to go…but I scrapped it. Let me just say when I read it I realized it sounded like an old man (me) ranting about the preciousness of younger generations (as represented by Ms. Doerrie in this instance). I’ll just say this, I’m certain that many of us (myself included) have been dealt genetic challenges and just put our heads down and persevered. And have had to deal with superiors at work who weren’t very nice to us. Or were downright pricks to us. But again, you just put your head down and pushed through it. I suspect that a rather large cheque is going to change hands in regards to this situation at some point. And I’ll bet Aqua ain’t gonna enjoy signing it very much.

Well. That was a bummer. But the Seahawks and Canucks can still make this a pretty great Sports Sunday for me.
-
Too much quality to handle for us.
-
I thought that was in.

Croatia just has that extra bit of quality at the very top end that is plain as day. Whether or not Canada mounts an epic comeback or not I’m proud of the lads. Watching this on a ferry and there is a very lively vibe in the lounge.

[Rumour] Bo Horvat Trade/Contract Talks
Locke Lamora replied to HOFsedins's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Not sure I’ll be able to find it, but it was from a Salo interview from Finland. He was very forthright about Olli needing to be more committed to his conditioning. I remember it made a few waves here on CDC….the usual Juolevi defenders/critics going at it. But don’t mind me, get back to your regularly scheduled Bo Horvat trade/contract speculation! -
I don’t want to come across as “one note” in regards to the Horvat situation….but…if they let him leave then this management will have utterly failed. If he does end up leaving and it comes out that indeed they offered Bo a contract in starting with a 5-something million then it will go down as one of the greatest management gaffs in Canuck history. And its been a history liberally populated with some real doozys.
