  1. I dunno. I’d rather see Petey with Miller and Bo with Podz. But let’s see how it goes.
  2. Everyone knows that JT has been godly this year, but in recent times he’s cooled off somewhat. I’d love to see JT go BEASTMODE tonight. That would help our chances immensely. Bo just needs to keep his current run of form going. But it may all fall upon Demko ultimately. Looking at the Vegas lineup…it suddenly looks scary good.
  3. Just for $&!#s and giggles I went back and looked at the posts immediately after we drafted Horvat. Some rather unfortunate takes. Back on topic….uh….PODZ RULZ!!!!!
  4. Have very distinct memories of watching Bossy against the Canucks in 82. One of the greatest.
  5. Ok, so….the latest MUST WIN game is upon us. How long can the boys keep the games meaningful? Tune in tonight to find out!
  6. Yeah, I think a lot of folks don’t, or don’t want to, think about the fact that this is the team Benning built we are watching right now. I defended him for quite a while but in hindsight a ton of the blame has to be put on Green and his coaching staff for the miserable start. Hope the story of what the hell happened at the start of the year emerges one day. Seems to me like the team either flat out quit on Green…or his coaching strategy was an absolute disaster. Maybe the first relates to the second?
  7. Lots of teams, even the good ones, play stinkers against the lesser lights of the league.
  8. Too soon I think. And I wouldn’t count on Hogz leaping from his challenging season this year to top line next year. Nothing is impossible though. I think the ceiling for Podz is a first liner if all goes EXTREMELY well for him. The floor for him is an 3rd line winger if he doesn’t progress much beyond what he is now - which admittedly seems unlikely. So in between those two scenarios is a top quality second liner…with Bo and Podz being a power-duo for years to come. Hope Boudreau stops his line tinkering a bit and just leaves Podz with the captain for a stretch of games here as I want a further look at this.
  9. Lol, these guys sound like bigger Podz fans than some us on this board. And Bo is built like a brick $&!#house. The more and more I think about it I love the idea of Bo and Podz on a line for years to come. Heavy guys with good speed (Bo has become legit fast), good offensive abilities and some serious defensive chops. The makings of a great second line there….
  10. Lol, Dhaliwhal more impressed by Lockwood than Podz? Thinking I haven’t missed much by not catching much of this show.
  11. It’s very hard to anticipate what might happen, but it’s definitely a possible scenario. What a horrendous situation in so many ways that its impossible to count them. The interruption of a young players hockey career is probably at the low end of importance in the grand scheme of life and death but it would be a serious bummer for THIS Canuck fan…and for Podz obviously. Count me as not surprised at all he’s heading back to Russia to see his family.
  12. Holy $&!#e, listening to Bo and JT talk with borderline REVERENCE about Podz today was amazing to hear. Sounds to me like next year quite a few of the vets are going to be lobbying for the young Russian to be on their line. Not certain JT is back next year, but I’ve loved what I’ve seen of Podz and the captain together. One thing that worries me about the kid is him going back to Russia with all that is going on there. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Putin doesn’t allow some of its star athletes to leave Russia at some point. A way to punish The West. I wouldn’t put it past the bastard to conscript Russia players and force them to play in the KHL. I don’t know if Podz has any option to just stay here, but I expect him to go back to Russia once the season completes.
  13. It’s really bizarre how Chaisson of all people has gotten into some peoples heads. And yeah, Boudreau seems to like him more than Green did…very good point. For what his role is Chaisson has been a success. In saying that, I won’t be shook up at all if he’s not back next year. But if he is, I’ll hardly be gnashing my teeth like some will. And don’t look now….but the Kings look a bit vulnerable. We just have to keep winning.
  14. You showed up, which I can respect. Wish I could say the same about doubling down on your Chaisson take.
  15. Chaisson haters are the new Bo haters. Wonder when that @King Heffy is going to show his face again.
  16. New Canuck slogan for 2023: “Your Vancouver Canucks…wreckin’ livers since 1970!”
  17. I was looking at Gadj’s stats earlier. Seems HIGHLY unlikely. -9 and -21 for Gadj and Dahlen respectively. Not losing sleep over those guys not being here anymore, though at the time I was PISSED when we lost big (and slow) Gadj.
  18. Based upon the ways the posts are trending so far, I’d say quite a few are already deep into their cups.
  19. Well, TV Alf was pretty much a space troll, so it follows that CDC Alf would be a hockey troll. Yes, the takes are often bad…but I choose to think he knows this and is just trying to be entertaining. Whether he is succeeding in this venture is might be up for debate.
  20. Just checking in on some different NHL stats today….and I don’t think I realized at just how elite a face-off man Horvat really is. Wow. Need to get back into the playoffs so Bo can strut his stuff in the circle again.
  21. If the boys don’t come out after the very first face off playing like their hair is on fire….I will be at a complete loss as to what’s going on. I prefer to think that tonight they are going to come out guns a-blazin’.
  22. Oh, no doubt he’ll factor heavily in the AHL playoffs for Abby. But you still try to get him a few games up here just to have a look at how he is progressing and how his current game looks in the NHL. Also, it’s a sort of “reward” for the player. Given the season he’s had, factoring in that scary hit, he’s deserves a couple of games in the big show.
  23. Good points there. Whatever the reasons, he’s definitely no longer engaged in the “charm offensive” he had going on in the first half of his tenure here. Had the media and fans here positively enraptured.
