  1. This is why sports are awesome. The only predictable part of it is the unpredictability.
  2. Biggest issue right now….too much damn clock left. I hope the boys don’t try to sit on this lead. Try to score another one!
  3. I wish Schenn was younger than he is. He’s the kind of rock we really need on D. Love how he just abuses the other team out there. Good bounce back by Halak. Fun period to watch. Colorado allows for a very entertaining play style.
  4. Boys are playing better in this first period against arguably the best team in the league than they did for the majority of the recent home stand. And good job OEL! Hope Podz tunes up that little twerp Cogliano later himself.
  5. Lol, I was at a bunch of the home games in ‘94. And the 90’s are long gone. The game today, with the salary cap, can’t be compared to that era. Need a core of elite, young talent on team friendly deals. Colorado did it right…and more recently the Rangers. The Avalanche went from basement dwellers to a top team in the Western Conference in 3 years.
  6. But that’s the thing, we have not committed to a proper rebuild. The ownership, as many have said before, don’t have the stones for it. Looks like quite a few fans don’t either. We are likely going to tinker around the edges and continue to exist in the “mushy middle” and just pray that one day perhaps we make the playoffs and make some sort of Cinderella run. So, enjoy.
  7. I want to see my team win The Cup before I die. And if a rebuild takes 8 years you are doing it, very, very wrong.
  8. Yep, this is the worst place to be. The best thing for our long term success would be a true tear-it-down rebuild then drafting and building up a stable of young, elite talent. But this ownership, clearly, has no appetite for this.
  9. Good news, but its best to keep expectations in check for this player.
  10. I actually think he is showing signs of becoming a future member of the toxic Vancouver hockey media. His piling on Hoglander in particular rubs me the wrong way.
  11. OMG, listening to Assistant GM P. Allvin reminded me of something I couldn’t quite remember as he spoke. But now I have it. Patrick Allvin….energy vampire. (From the hilarious TV show “What We Do In The Shadows”
  12. Pretty entertaining on SN650 right now. Along with a lot of folks on this board, many of the hosts were clamouring for the end of the Benning/Green era. And now the spin trying to pump up this new management group’s lack of action and coherent communication is something to behold. I hope Rutherford bounces back from COVID just fine….because he needs to be on the front line of communication in lieu of his Swedish “protege”. All in all, pretty damned underwhelming day. Now going for a jog.
  13. I mean, his mouth technically formed “words” but Assistant GM P. Allvin said absolutely NOTHING there.
  14. Allvin’s speaking….someone poke me if I start nodding off.
  15. Well, at least Jimbo had a down home country vibe, hair grease and all, that was kinda endearing in a way….….but infuriating to some for sure. Allvin…is just so….sleep inducing. How great would it be to have, let’s say, a Ray Ferraro-level type speaker as GM? One can dream….hey, maybe we forge new ground in sports one day with a husband wife management duo of Ray and Cammi.
  16. So, Assistant GM P. Allvin is speaking in about 30 minutes. I have not been impressed with his communication skills thus far - can’t honestly say he’s any better than ol’ Jimbo was - but I hope to see some improvement in this area. Some sort of cohesive explanation at their TEPID approach to this trade deadline. So far anyway, the hype around this management team has far outweighed the reality. But yeah, patience right?
  17. I hear what you’re saying and mostly agree but I’d separate Highmore from the other two.
  18. Well, at least I didn’t waste my whole morning as I was playing Elden Ring while keeping track of Legendary GM Rutherford doing pretty much nothing.
  19. Haha, Thomas Drance trying so hard to polish up this turd of trade deadline by our new management team.
  20. Lol to the GMJB haters. You reap what you sow. Next stop for GMJR (don’t kid yourself, he’s the REAL GM, not the Swede) is the retirement home.
