I wasn’t talking about Benning. Jimbo #2 is Rutherford. Guy makes me nervous with his recent trading history…and if the boys keep winning and have a legit playoff chance, no way he’s dealing away a Horvat, Boeser, or Miller. I hope they can somehow retain Motte. I say keep this group together, if you need to trade then do it in the Summer. Pretty clear now that the team just plain quit on the Benning/Green regime.

You gotta love it. The Canucks are preventing Jimbo #2 from trading away any of our stars and the boys hopefully are going to make the Vancouver sports media look foolish when they had this team dead and buried even just a few weeks ago. They may not make the playoffs, but if they do….with Demko….no team is going to relish the prospect of facing us.

I didn’t really care for some of Brucie’s comments about our team on Toronto radio recently. Anyone else? If I were some of the players I think I’d be annoyed. -
Loved this game. Shoved it right up the Van media’s butts when they’ve been piling on Hoglander in his second year and trying to promote the idea that Bo’s captaincy should be stripped off of him and given to Miller. cant wAit for tomorrow when “J-Pat” tries to poke holes in this win, lol. And also….PODZILLA. This kid is a beast and he’s still a baby at 20 years old. Think about that.

I thought it was a mistake to start Halak even before he did his Big “sieve” Dave Ridditch impression. Demko would have been just fine to go back to back. A lot of inhaling of “hopium” on Brucie’s part putting faith in Halak. That loss really hurts us. I get that Boudreau is kinda lovable, but I’m seeing flaws appear in his coaching. Hope we don’t have any more back to backs left that might necessitate another Halak start. I actually like Alf’s idea of getting Martin up here. Hate Halaks body language too. Bet his teammates ain’t thrilled with it either. I suppose Thursday is the next “must win” game. -

The Legacy of Jimbo continues on with Lammy (for OJ), Highmore (for Hockey Gaud (lol)) and Motte (for Vanek). Thank you Jim. -
I cannot believe how much Podz has progressed since I watched him in person in camp. He looked timid and overwhelmed and I was starting to have doubts. His skating didn’t look great either. But you can see the player will become starting to emerge.

I was at the 11-0 game with a girlfriend who was a Flames fan. -
Yeah, that’s pretty random.

[PGT] Seattle Kraken at Vancouver Canucks | Feb. 21, 2022

This is the thing that scares me as a Canuck fan. How confident I feel about this new regime will in large part be influenced by the quality, or lack thereof, of the first handful of trades Rutherford makes. Not gonna lie, I’m nervous about it. -

Rutherford’s the boss here, make no mistake about it. -
Bruce didn’t have the boys ready to go. I wonder when he is going to start hearing criticism, because its been a free ride for him thus far.
-
Feel sick right now. Jack is a special prospect and player….and based on everything you hear, especially concerning his brother back home, he’s an even better human. Hopefully he still gets to realize his NHL dream.

Love Bruce’s response to the typical Van media trying their best to diminish a win. And Bruce knows full well that its stupid to apologize for having a great goalie. And don’t forget that without Quinn Hughes our possession numbers in this game were not going to be good. I don’t think ol Brucie Boudreau ultimately has much of a shelf life here in Van, but I do love how he handles the media generally.
-
I’m certainly in no rush to get Jack up to the big club. On the other hand, when Jack finds his groove in the NHL, he’s a big upgrade on Brad Hunt. Would love to see Jack in Van before the end of the year with him bringing some new confidence with him.

[Report] Canucks hire Cammi Granato as assistant GM

How much input did Granato have in constructing the Kraken expansion roster I wonder? Hopefully not much, because they did a poor job.- 191 replies

[PGT] Arizona Coyotes at Vancouver Canucks | Feb. 08, 2022

I think Petey really likes playing with Podz. If Hogs can elevate his game just a bit more, that can be one helluva line. And a great, no pressure position for EP to be in while he gets his game in order. And signs are pretty clear that this is happening. And Miller…..if they trade him the only way I’ll feel good about it is if they get one heck of a haul of picks/prospects. -
Atta boy Jack.

[Report] Canucks name Patrik Allvin as GM
Locke Lamora replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Lots of folks enthusiastic about this mostly the fact this it’s not-Benning. But apart from getting lucky with Sid and Malkin, I honestly don’t think there is anything remarkable about the “Penguin Way” that guarantees its going to do anything special here. This all hinges on Rutherford, which makes me a bit nervous. Allvin is Rutherfords’ assistant make no mistake. Wish the new team a lot of good luck though. This is my team, for better or worse.
