[Report] Canucks hire Derek Clancey as assistant GM
Locke Lamora replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Boring. -
BB is going to have the Vancouver media eating out of his hand with his jovial, everyman nature. Until they turn on him. Which they will. The Patterson’s and Sekeres’s of the world have a selection of very sharp knives in reserve. Listening to BB, not anticipating much in the way of advanced systems going forward.

Media and many folks on CDC participating in a love-in for Boudreau. If he’s “the answer” I’ll gladly own it, but I think he’s a bit of a relic. Sure, he’s funny with his f-bomb laden dressing room rants and his Elmer Fudd looks and his love of ice cream but that’s not going to get him very far with me. So yeah, I’ll extend him a grace period but I’m leaning towards being a skeptic.

interim GM stop gap move. Well, better than rushing into something REALLY dumb. As a life long Canuck diehard I hope things turnaround from here, but I’m not feeling celebratory like y’all. This is all pretty sad to witness. so much depends on the GM move. As ever, I’ll watch every game because they are my team, for better or worse.

As much as I love Petey, blonde moustaches are just plain nasty. -

Lol. I hope the team rips off 5 straight wins so the Fire Green mob will be completely flummoxed. I mean, if the losing is all Green’s fault, then all the wins should be due to his genius coaching. Keep that same energy Green haters -

I almost posted in the GDT that the Canucks were going to score 5 or more goals tonight. But I didn’t. Could have looked like a genius. Nice to see the results more match the talent level on the the team. Win the last game on this home stand and at least it won’t be a COMPLETE disaster of a home stand. And anyone else surprised at Podz’s shot? Dude was billed as a playmaker with his shot needing some work. Kid can absolutely rip it. And I love to see Travis slowly taking the shackles off him. And he’s only 20 folks. -
Nothing wrong with Jack’s play on the big team this year (other than that one game, from which he bounced back nicely in the next game) but I have zero issues with him going down to Abby to work on his game and play tons of minutes in all sorts of situations. Heck, it’s going to improve the entertainment value and team of quality of the baby Nucks as well. Tanev had a very similar start to his career with the Nucks back in the day, bouncing between the AHL and the big team until one day he just stuck with the big team….and became a fixture here for many, many years. See the same happening with J-Bone.

[PGT] New York Rangers at Vancouver Canucks | Nov. 02, 2021

I actually thought the last game might have been the start of better things to come, even in a loss to the Oil. This game didn’t do anything to change my mind. Gotta get that PP going though. Funny how quick folks were to run Newell Brown out of town! Petey, slowly, ever so SLOWLY, showing a few signs of coming out of his weird funk. Podz is going to be a beast very, very soon. By February I think. You can tell the game is slowing down for him as his ability to process the NHL game increases. On to the next game!- 901 replies

2021-22 Abbotsford Canucks Thread
Locke Lamora replied to GoldenAlien's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
So, is there no local radio coverage of the baby Canucks. Pretty disappointing if true. Currently having to listen to Henderson Silver Knights broadcast. -
My preference would be that Podz be put back in for the home opener. I understand the thinking that a coach is hesitant to change a winning lineup so I certainly won’t be surprised or freak out if he sits again. I do honestly think that Podz can gain some insight from watching a few games from on up high in the arena. The one thing I think Podz could definitely improve on is his pace and work rate and I think he probably got a good look at the overall pace of the NHL game from the press box vantage point. I’m of the opinion that Travis Green has done an overall very good job with our young players so I’m not going to be overly critical of how Podz is being handled. I have a sneaky feeling that when Podz does get back in he’s going to look like a different player. If not….I’m not opposed to some time in Abby for him. Imagine Podz and Dan Klim destroying fools in the AHL.

Haha, thanks for that. But I did some further research and apparently the official Kraken mascot WAS revealed…courtesy of Gritty. -

Hey, did the Kraken reveal an official mascot during their home opener? A counterpart to our very own Fin? -

Hey, I respect you a great deal for admitting you may have been wrong about Hughes. Not everyone on this board conducts themselves with that sort of class. And with the utmost respect to you, I wouldn’t be writing off those Rathbone expectations just yet. He’s gonna be a good one for us. -

People who are crapping on Hughes are openly advertising how little they know about hockey. Sure, he’s going to have his rough moments but we are BEYOND BLESSED to have him on our team. My gratitude to the Detroit Red Wings will be eternal. Love how he’s clearly a little more stout in his own end this year…and his shot is definitely heavier.
