  1. This Coyotes/Sabres game could singlehandedly turn back the game of hockey a decade. Woof. Canucks should be able to put the boots to the Sabres as long as we show up for the game. And in a shocking development, Loui is still slow and awful.
  2. Boy, Podz sure looked pissed at Green for the “benching”. The kid just gets it. Unlike some of the hot take posters around here, lol!
  3. Listen to Travis Green’s post game comments about it. All of the concerned folks should.
  4. I for one wouldn’t mind a win in a more conventional, less stressful fashion. A win today would mean grabbing 5 points in our first 3 games….an excellent start to the season. Halak and Boeser in? Maybe Hunt? Come out strong and take advantage of their Larkin-less state. I trust Green to continue to develop Podz in the NHL, exactly as he did with our little Hog. Travis is EXCELLENT with our young players, and if you listen to his post game comments you can tell he really likes Podz and has his best interests in mind.
  5. And when Boeser gets back he’ll push the talent level further down the lineup. At the bottom half of the lineup Dickinson, Lammikko, and even Highmore have impressed me. Once Motte gets back things look even better. EP, Hughes and Miller can improve a fair bit still I think. The rust seems to be coming off of Hughes faster than the other two though. Bo having a slow start but zero long term worries there.
  6. I would not be surprised if Hunt slots in for Rathbone tomorrow. Don’t think I’d put Schenn in for Burroughs. Schenn’s footspeed looked really poor in the preseason.
  7. People freaking out about Podkolzin’s “benching” lol. Very few 20 year olds are going to be trusted to be put out there to defend a third period lead…especially one with exactly ONE game under his belt. A time will come in the not to distant future when Podz will be THE GUY you want out there in these situations. He’s not there yet. People just want everything RIGHT NOW it seems. As Podz gains trust as the season goes on I wonder if TG will get credit when Podz becomes a great player for us, and hopefully really comes into his own in the playoffs, like he did in the KHL. Interesting note from the game…big Dickinson was the corsi leader for the Canucks. Plays a hard game.
  8. Yep, as for now we are undefeated in regulation so Jack sure ain’t costing us games. And yeah, he’ll probably be rotated out on occasion, perhaps tomorrow. It’s all good concerning Jack Rathbone. By mid season, he’s going to be a key cog in our attack.
  9. He’s getting his seasoning right now, in the big show and doing just fine.
  10. Ok, not an oil painting but damn, the Canucks are going to entertain us this year! On to Detroit! Let’s try to win one in regulation boys!
  11. Yeah, I was a bit harsh perhaps, but when Rathbone has been absolutely fine in the game and we are about to win after a horrendous start negative commentary such as yours can really grate.
  12. It’s ok to shorten your bench when you are trying to close out a game. Podz will get appropriate kudos for scoring his goal and getting us going. Kid is 20, relaaaaaaaaaax.
