  1. Hopefully he play himself up the lineup after a bit of time off to rest up.
  2. Well you're entitled to your own opinion. That's fine. It goes against what the coaches of Finland thought as they were the ones that voted him top 3 on the team. Higher then all other defenseman on a team with 4 1st round draft picks in the top 6, but according to you it means nothing because they came 5th. That's fine, your entitled to that opinion, you can still think somehow he had a bad tournament.
  3. Lol. You were the one saying Juolevi was bad at the WJC's. Yet he was voted top 3 on the team. Just correcting your mistakes as you are just making $&!# up and spewing garbage. Carry on.
  4. Overall on the team. Was voted as such. Obviously you didn't even watch. You're just spewing garbage.
  5. Let's all take note that Heiskanen was a healthy scratch as well this year. I think we can all agree he is still an excellent prospect as well.
  6. His "sources" told him so. Lol
  7. Because Heiskenan is a great measuring stick for OJ. Both play D, Both play in the same league, both are recent high draft picks and very young. Heiskanen is by all measure predicted to be a #1 top pairing defenseman which we'd all love Juolevi to turn into. Measuring them against each other helps us predict what kind of player OJ could turn into. It's not a knock against Juolevi, we had no chance of drafting Heiskanen. Almost everyone is excited about the steps Juolevi has taken this year, defensively and especially offensively. Heiskanen is just the measuring stick right now.
  8. Holy $&!#. You don't actually believe this do you? This tire fire of a team is going to be a cup contender in 2 years if we draft a good defender this year? One that would probably be a couple years away from even making the NHL. That's some serious optimism, borderline insanity though
  9. Horvat, Sedin, Sutter, Gaudette Inevitably Sutter will get injured and Gaudette can move up. Starting as a 4th line center is a good spot for a guy like Gaudette. Get his feet wet in a sheltered role and move up as injuries happen.
  10. Could not signing him not be an advantage to both sides? Lind gets off his ELC sooner and hits RFA status leading to a bigger money contract sooner. For the Canucks while it's one less year on a cheap contract it's one less year of experience and development for Lind making it more likely his first longer term contract will be signed at a cheaper rate. With some of these RFA's getting signed to massive contracts after one good season it could be incredibly valuable to lock a guy up before he breaks out with a big season. Of course all this ride on not having a breakout season before he hits RFA status, in that case you do loose a year of a player on a cheap contract.
  11. Now if only Lind would stop slacking and start leading the WHL in scoring we could have the top scorers in 3 different leagues.
  12. Oh man. I gotta admit I was fretting a little when Domi was crushing it and Nychuskin looked like the next Hossa. Still always liked the Horvat pick though just because you could tell he had the right attitude to be a pro but those first few years there made it tough. I don't think too many expected Horvat to have this much offensive game at the NHL level....He's still improving too. Love it
  13. There's more to hockey than just points. Pettersson still needs to get at least 20lbs heavier before he is going to be remotely close to franchise level talent. Sure he is playing against men right now but it's on the bigger ice in a much less physical league. If he does fill out and get to 190+ lbs than I can see him having a chance at being a franchise talent. Right now he has the potential to be an elite player but there is still potential he never gets strong enough to be much more than an great talent.
  14. So much of Olli's development is how much he can improve on his footspeed. Right now he is kinda slow and that will get exposed in the NHL and will prevent him from being a top pairing guy. However he is checking off development boxes on schedule right now, got bigger and stronger. Check. Learning to up his intensity and play against men. Check. Show up when the going gets tough like the WJC's. Check. IMO his last hurdle is to get quicker, he is a smooth as &^@# skater in all directions but his turns and first few steps can be a little slow. We'll see how much he can improve on this
  15. I think that's why I don't understand this quote. Goldobin has never complained about opportunity so I didn't get it. Button must be confusing fan reaction with Goldobin himself who like you said has been nothing but a pro about getting his ice time and having to earn it. Not sure I ever really see Goldy getting it though to be honest. He's waiver material next year and has barely shown any signs he's improved his play without the puck. Kids just gotta learn to hustle.
  16. Can someone ELI 5 this for me. I'm having trouble comprehending what he's saying. Players that leave a doubt always leave a doubt but don't leave any doubt about it? It sounds like some riddle to me.
  17. Is there any way to find out how many points Gaudette has on the PP? Seems like a majority of his points do come on the PP.
  18. I was wrong. Its not 80%....it's 92%.
  19. I love that because of his 5th round pick status there is very little hype and expectation surrounding him. It's going to be much easier for him to transition into an NHL player without the hype and expectations that would come about being a 1st round pick and leading the NCAA in scoring.
  20. Pretty sure he's still put up almost 2 ppg in that time span. Lind is probably more of a play maker than a goal scorer anyhow. There was that crazy stat about how many of his points were primary assists, was like 80% of something.
  21. Holm and Brisebois are realistically potential bottom pairing guys. The only solid top 4 prospect we have right now is Juolevi. I agree with what the other guy said, we basically need 3 defenders to create a new top 4 for this team to be true contenders. Tanev or Tryamkin could potentially be part of that but it's hard to believe with the way Tanev plays and the toll it takes on him that he will still be able to contribute the way he is now and Tryamkin may never come back. If we get truly lucky we can snag another 1st this year and get a couple defenders and hope they pan out. Sign or trade for another top defender and we may have something but our defense needs a complete overhaul
  22. I'm not saying that Pettersson didn't show his abilities and show he has incredible potential but just that he was a lot less effective in the last 2 games than he was in the rest of the tournament. More just another sign about what we all know. He just needs to gain size and strength.
  23. Who's this Uffe guy? I agree with most of what he said. Pettersson did have trouble once the games got more physical and the checking was tighter.
  24. Well for the last 2 seasons he's been with Sikura who is always neck and neck with him scoring wise. Some do wonder who is propping up who. Sikura get next to no hype either even though he has scored basically as much as Gaudette. I think Gaudette is going to be great for us. Work ethic with size, hockey IQ and enough skill is a great recipe for a solid NHL player.
