  1. Oh Jebus, pleeeeeease let the Canucks win a cup before I die!

  2. Holy crapcakes. Yes please Connor to Canucks.
  3. I'm going to change my Luongo jersey to a Thing 1 jersey, hang it up on the wall, have a drink, and cry. 4 decades of suffering apparently not enough for us.
  4. I'm a tank, I'm a tank! Indestructiblow, yeah! I'm a tank, I'm a tank! Impenintrouble, yeah! .... Yeah! I'm a tank! Woooo!

  5. Virtanen will go very high in this thin draft I think. I'm worried. Our drafting history makes me think that we'll burn a high pick on Willie Nylander, who I would avoid, personally, because he looks more like a Belieber than a future NHLer. His old man was brilliantly-skilled, but never really did much when the games started to matter. Best season was the one he had with Jagr post-lockout. The no contact one. I would not think the apple falls far from the tree. Seen enough of that here, I think. Would also avoid Ehlers, as we already have Shinkaruk, and this guy is basically as softer, more Danish Shinkaruk.
  6. Better than the last time we acquired a goalie from Florida. Great player, but he took up sooo much of our cap space. Took an infinite deal to get the cap hit more reasonable.
  7. The team spending large on a rental winger at this point would have been beyond idiotic. And yet some of us wanted it to be done. Hmmm.
  8. People are thinking Luongo went to a poorer team here. Ha. Florida will likely win the cup sooner than us. They're a lot further along in their rebuild, certainly. And they just brought in a fancy new owner. Hmmm... The day after the owner takes over, Luongo is traded there? Wow. What an amazing coincidence! For those wondering why the Luongo trade took so long, there's your answer.
  9. Nice to see our smug friends at TSN denied their glorious Kesler trade. Hell, the whole thing was probably made up by them. Meanwhile, their hero Nonuts sits on his hands.

One of the best users on CDC lol and I agree. They are the best hockey analysts but make and stir up bs also.

  10. Trade helps to ensure a good position in the 2015 draft. Now trade our core guys for more 2015 first rounders.

  11. The Canucks put on a great show today at BC place, which was full of 50,000 plus fans. A great sunday outing for families, which was marked on everyone's calendar since it was announced, the event featured great music, great festivities, great weather (should have uncovered it perhaps if there was snow), and yes, a reasonably great game of hockey. The Canucks and Senators, who aren't offical 'rivals' by any stretch, put up an extreme physical effort for a classic game and matched each other hit for hit all game long. It had a bit of a playoff feel. It featured goals, which for outdoor games are hard to come by. But more than that, it featured watchable hockey action. Outdoor games are sluggish at best, and once you get over the spectacle of snow falling down or wind blowing around, the game itself is pretty darn awful. Today was an exception and may have opened the NHL's eyes towards how much easier and more enjoyable it is to set up and watch these games in covered arenas. What more could the fans and media have asked for here? Well, apparently fans wanted Roberto Luongo in the game. Or did they? More like they just want a win. Patience is at an end for a lot of fans in Vancouver. Patience with this core group. So when the Canucks came out flying and earned a 2-goal lead, only to blow it soon after when their play flatlined, such as has the story has been for the team all season long, out came the boo-birds/Lu supporters to let the team know their displeasure. This is a normal expectation for a group that has seen their team virtually fall off the map since the start of 2014. Yet, critical fans and media are taking these few seconds of vocal displeasure and hyping it up to mock the team and the event they did such a great job of putting together. I can't help feel but those people have an agenda to knock the Canucks wherever there may be a possible fault. From Elliott Friedman's over-the-top and pointless tirade against Vancouver fans, who will no doubt respond on twitter, etc., building the mystique of Vancouver's fans being 'oh so bad', but all these other fans who boo their team every night don't apply to the critiques. To Glenn Healy's pokes and jabs at the franchise all game long, as nonsensical as they sometimes are. (How much are they paying Jim Hughson to keep his mouth shut and not seriously run out of his booth, across the ice just to sock Glenn a good one anyway?) To the ongoing 'Canucks are classless, their fans are classless, everything about them is classless, blah, blah, blah' mantra that the CBC, TSN, and eastern Sportsnet commentators continuously shovel out this way, night after night after night. To those people and to Vancouver's very own media and fans who are on an obvious agenda of embitterment, I say shame on you. Say what you want about the teams' performance on the ice in 2014 or whatever coaching or managing decisions you don't approve of. But please, don't knock this Heritage Classic game because of a mere starting of a backup goaltender. (Good God, get OVER the whole goaltender thing already! Jesus!) Or whatever the fans may having been chanting for a few seconds. This game was the best 'classic' game or 'stadium series' game or whatever the NHL's going to end up calling them all so far. It had everything but a Canucks win. The event today was kick-ass. Applaud the Canucks, your team, for the show they put on. They did a marvelous job.
  12. Surprised by Lack's start. Not surprised from that being massively overblown by everyone. Even less surprised by Eeeediot Friedman's biased boo-hoo-hoo wet rag comments.
  13. Eeeediotte Friedman: We were booing YOU, you ban-worthy, biased clown, you. And Glenn Healy. God GOD why does he have a job?

  15. I'd want Subban in return. Esp. since Montreal is likely going to lose that guy anyway. Besides, we have his brother.
  16. Funny, because analysts say the Canucks screwed up when they didn't ditch Schneider on deadline day. (When one playoff team at the time might have been interested in a goaltender.) Analysts...
  17. A Kesler trade MUST be seriously being looked at, because all sorts of ridiculous rumours of his personal life are coming to light. Yeah, how about that timing?

  18. Hope not, because the return would likely include Connolly and Malone. Now if Jonathan Drouin were chatted about instead we'd be getting somewhere. His addition would make Hunter Shinkaruk redundant however.
  19. Problem is Pronger and Niedermayer are done and Getzlaf and Perry are staying in Anaheim. If Burke could have all those guys he'd be a clear upgrade. I don't see Burke being interested in GMing another Canadian team. His years in Toronto turned him into a fossil.
  20. Sorry. Saw 'theminister' and Nelson Mandela and just assumed it was 'son' on purpose. I believe that dispassionate views on trades are meant for NHL14 and such. The reality is that players who played their whole careers on one team and have children born there, etc. are far from dispassionate about the prospect of moving elsewhere. The vast implications of such a trade should not be ignored, not matter what the cold, strategic planning of a trade done on paper only may tell you. Kesler being dealt, no matter the return, means throwing a stick of dynamite into the locker room. But i suppose that just means more trade speculation and blogging about it and making stuff up and such.
  21. Franzen hat-trick today. Increase or decrease the likelihood of Detroit trading him?
  22. lol 'son' Again we're being blind to the fact that good franchises, in the cap era especially, don't even need to make trades. Why should we be excited at all about trading the heart of our team? Again. It was shameful then and it's shameful now. All for a return that MIGHT pan out or might not. The argument of whether or not he should be traded is a totally valid one, because you have to consider the repercussions of doing it. For starters, kiss all the other non-Sedin core players goodbye. Secondly, the Canucks are going back a notch or two in terms of league-wide respectability. Third, and most importantly, nobody should be as so stupid as to trade a player like Kesler. Ever.
