  1. Oh does he? Explains why he's good. The slot is never open when we're in the offensive zone. Like literally never. I miss those plays from a few seasons ago where the Sedins would find Burrows or Kesler or whoever else it was wide-open the slot and it would be a tap and for them
  2. I must admit Joey Kenward is doing a pretty good job for his first time on play-by-play
  3. Good kill There should be no conspiracy theories about this one though. Both those penalties were deserved by Kassian and Garrison. And when we don't score on three straight power-play opportunities we have to expect that there will be make up calls going the other way to even out the power-plays
  4. Oh boy there's been some close chances already. Eddie Lack looks like a bit of a belly flopper just like Luongo. Perhaps it was out of necessity though
  5. Switch over to TSN to watch real hockey. With actual speed, and skating, and skill, and scoring chances. That's how god intended for hockey to be played.
  6. Richardson is an important part of puck possession for this team. He's key at winning draws and also at winning battles along the boards. Hope it's nothing too serious. The Olympics break can't come soon enough
  7. Given how desperate the Canucks are for a D man (especially a righty) the fact that we got what we needed without having to give anything much up is pretty good. The report on Diaz though is that he doesn't have much of a shot. That won't help our lack of offense coming from the back end Oh well, it's a move...which proves that MG is indeed still alive so that's good
  8. Bummer Getting used to being a fan of a losing team
  9. Raonic was withdrawn from Davis Cup vs Japan with an ankle injury Pospisil is still dealing with a back injury and is only playing doubles So Frank Dancevic is now the Canadian #1 in singles for this round of Davis Cup. Raonic's replacement is Peter Polansky who was only supposed to be a hitting partner for the players. Canada is improving as a tennis nation but we don't have any depth yet. If the main guys/gals go down, we got nothing
  10. Sorry guys and gals I locked the wrong thread. My bad. #BadMultitasker
  11. WHY GOD WHY LEAVE OUR DEFENDERS ALOONNEEE!
  12. No but I saw her holding it up. Was surprised she got it through security! Sadly no The players are the problem. They just show no jump whatsoever. No desire. It's not like the effort was there and the results weren't. The was no effort at all. We had maybe 5 good shots on net. Everything else was from the perimeter. Crawford was just chillin back there. He wasn't even going to the bench at TV timeouts. There isn't even an effort to generate opportunities. The wind is firmly out of the sails of this team. Too many players with haunting memories of Boston and Game 7 imo. A bunch of fresh faces with no baggage might do this team some good.
  13. Hi gang, Back from the game. Minus the actual hockey game, it was a fantastic experience. Always is! The people on both sides of me were really nice. Good people who were up for a CDC-like discussion about the Canucks. Everyone had a good sense of humour so we got each other through a tough game. Got to meet Dave Babych before the game. Really nice guy. Very conversational! Ran into Joey Kenward but I didn't say hi this time. (I think I've told the story enough times on here so I won't bore you all by telling it again ) Great pre-game ceremony for the Olympics. The banner commemorating the Vancouver 2010 double gold by the men's and women's teams was a great touch. Those were 2 magical moments at Rogers Arena and they should be immortalized. Tessa Bonhomme in attendance was fantastic. They had a nice 1st intermission interview with her too which was great. Ok the game: I have never been to a Canucks game in 25 years in which I've been bored. How can you be bored watching elite players play the greatest game on earth? Well apparently you can. The Canucks have no chemistry. There wasn't one beautiful passing play today. No one wants to get in on the forecheck No one wants to skate Speed is this team's downfall. We don't have it. We don't skate fast and we don't make plays fast. Everything takes one extra second with us and that extra second is the difference between a goal and a negated scoring opportunity. Even at 2-0 it didn't feel like we were in control of the game. SOG wew 13-3 Chicago. Clearly we weren't in control It's a real shame. Fans pay good money to be in those seats. It's ok to lose games, but at least showcase the sport at the highest level. Show us what this beautiful game looks like when it is played by the best players in the world. My rec league team has more artistry and talent than this bunch of Canucks. The fans freaking love you, you play in luxury digs, and get paid millions. Show up and try for heck's sake.
  14. So Gumby finally broke eh? This is a huge loss. Tanev has been more steady than Hamhuis and Garrison combined
  15. Yeah so true. I wish he'd carry that emotion and motivation onto the ice. Kesler used to be able to back up his words with his actions, but the past few seasons he's been all talk. It doesn't make sense for a player to be that pissed off but to do nothing about it. Either he's just acting pissed but he doesn't really give a crap, or else he's got to carry this emotion better into games.
  16. Yikes Kesler is PO'ed in post game: "Stupid plays at stupid times." "They (Oilers) cheat. They cheat all over the ice. We can't turn pucks over at their blueline" "We need more from everybody. It's starts with the leadership group. We need everyone to play their A game"
  17. Burrows in post-game looks like he's carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. He looks so frustrated and sullen. I miss the old, carefree Burrows. All he needs is one goal and it'll be like the clouds have parted for him.
  18. Losing to the worst in the west. Rock bottom? Just no chemistry between any lines. Daniel looks to have joined Hank in the pressbox Burrows - making bad plays all around Kassian - flashes of promises negated by many more flashes on horrible plays Hansen - where are you bud? Booth - where are you bud? Kesler - where are you bud? Defensemen - where are you buds? Ugh...
  19. Oh.My.God Ok hockey gods. Burrows is sorry for whatever he did to piss you off. PLEASE forgive him!
