  1. Well, that was quick. https://www.tsn.ca/ottawa-senators-fired-pierre-mcguire-1.1797223
  2. Sportsnet is incredibly weak not only in terms of radio personalities, but in signal quality. I really miss the 1040 shows and guests, and 650 is barely worth it to the point that I might just drop AM radio altogether. Ray Ferraro is my favourite guest speaker bar none.
  3. Canucks need a RD and need to shed salary. Devils need to save money. Canucks trade Eriksson and Sutter for P. K. Subban. New Jersey will save 3.5 million of tangible money. Vancouver will dump 10.375 million in cap space this season on two underperforming forwards. New Jersey gets a centre, Sutter, that can play on the RW, which is a wing they need. Eriksson can still play on the wing as a "responsible" bottom 6 forward. NJ could buy him out next season to save more money. Vancouver gets a RD veteran in P.K. whose point totals have gone down, but he can provide a necessary stop gap and at least tie up money on a position we need.
  4. The Canucks need to take a step back this year. As much as people want to keep rolling on last season's playoff surprise, the multitude of bad contracts mean the team has to hang low in order to re-sign our key talent moving forward. The best way to get money off our books is to hang tight and let money expire because the flat cap has obliterated the trade market. Benning has been instrumental in bringing in huge assets while also handcuffing the team to overpaid questionable assets. Moving forward, money needs to be moved off the books before money can be added back on again.
