  1. Robertson signs with White Sox 4 years/$40 million.

It's reported Jays are looking for minimum 2 closers and maybe even a 3rd. Budget they have to work with is $15-$20 million = they won't be signing Miller or any top end guy. That 1 person would eat up their remaining budget, unless they get a guy like Miller and sign a guy to like league minimum which I don't see happening but could, just don't think it's realistic.

With that, AA, get some quality guys and not some halfass dudes and waste your money. This will make or break their season. 2nd base will be filled with the current players - a combination of them. Just excited/anxious for the remaining signings they make for the closers. And don't forget they'll likely trade Navarro too so who knows what that return will fetch us. I'm guessing they trade him for a closer+prospect.

The Robertson deal ended up being 4 years/46 Million.

As well, Miller was signed by the Yankee's last week (4 years/36 million).

The latest rumors have the Jays talking to KC about closer Greg Holland - which would be awesome!

  2. The LOS ANGELES KINGS select Center - WILLIAM BITTEN of the Ottawa Jr 67`s (OEMMHL)

An electrifying player with great skating ability. Moves very well laterally, has a great change of pace and utilizes that change of pace to create opportunities for himself off the rush and in the offensive zone. Deceptive with the puck, he has a tremendous ability to separate his lower body from his upper body in maintaining elusiveness in possession while skating at high speeds. Attacks defenders through the dots off the rush before using quick crossovers and body fakes to open up either the inside or outside lane. Strong in possession, he attacks the net fearlessly off the rush and uses deceptive movement and puck skills to carry pucks into high traffic areas off the half wall or cycle. He has terrific hand-eye coordination and anticipation skills which allow him to create offensive opportunities off neutral zone forechecks and PK situations. He is a crafty shooter, good at changing the angle of the blade and using look aways to improve scoring opportunities. He has a smaller frame, however he is very athletic and strong on his skates which allows him to initiate contact and use his body well in possession. Needs to improve skating pathways and timing to create more opportunities to utilize his speed off breakouts and neutral zone transition, has a tendency to arrive at spots too early and needs to work on taking back ice to provide more space for acceleration. Has a tendency to force plays when things are not going his way early, however he does possess strong playmaking skills. Could use his teammates more through the neutral zone to open up seams for himself. Defensive zone play is showing considerable improvement but still needs to be more consistent. Needs to continue working on strength. A dominant player in the OEMHL AAA league and possesses a lot of skills that transfer well at higher levels of play. Will come into the Ontario Hockey League and have the opportunity to establish himself as a top offensive option for the Whalers as the year moves on.

  3. Well now you know why I didn't want to trade this pick....

I traded away Husso earlier and don't really have a goalie coming up the ranks, so I figured I would grab him. Hopefully in a few years Lehner and Fitzpatrick will give me a good problem to have.

Oh and snap, didn't realize Dis was picking right after me....sorry bro

Haha, I tried to trade up, but VC would have none of it.

    This is unfortunate.
