THE RETURN OF THE KING
The Los Angeles are thrilled to have Dustin Brown returning to our organization for another four years. It was our goal to do whatever was necessary to keep Dustin in our core group and establish our franchise as a contender for years to come. He was extremely solid defensively last year and finished with a team leading +17. We expect good things to come from our captain as he enters the prime years of his career.
The signing of Linus Omark now solidifies the fourth line, which will feature Ryan Johansen down the middle with Omark and Chris Neil managing the wings. With the addition of Linus Omark there is speculation that Kyle Clifford could be made available. The Los Angeles Kings are still in search of a top 6 LW & a top 4 defensemen, which could see Clifford packaged with goaltender Jonathan Bernier to acquire one of those assets.
While the Los Angeles Kings have been somewhat quite this off-season, in the last 24 hours they have arguably made the biggest free agent splash with the signing of highly coveted forward Dustin Brown. Other minor moves this off-season saw the kings bring in young center Ryan Johansen, the acquisition of Jordan Subban and the signing of Ben Duffy, who led the QMJHL in scoring with 110 points with the PEI Rocket.
