There’s literally no situation where it’s ok not to cooperate with he police. That’s the law. As far as your scenario, I’ve been in similar situations a couple of times. You just cooperate with them and it gets cleared up. Arguing only escalates the situation unnecessarily.

Yes, most do. Most cops are great. By why risk it? What’s to be gained? If the cop has already decided to arrest you, giving them attitude and resisting isn’t going to accomplish anything other than put yourself and the cop in danger. I’m just saying you can’t put all the blame on the cops. Why can’t we have a discussion about proper behaviour when interacting with the cops?

Yes because they commit crimes at a higher rate and resist arrest at a higher rate. It would be impossible for them not to be killed at a higher rate given those numbers. Maybe they should look themselves in the mirror instead of blaming others.

Good luck with that. They do get elevated status because they are putting their lives on the line for us. They are put in situations multiple times a day where their lives and safety are threatened. They’re not questioning you for poops and giggles. Show some damn respect and do as you’re told. If you’re innocent, the time to sort that out is at the police station. If they truly think you’re guilty, do you think they’re going to let you go just because you gave them attitude and said you’re not? What’s to be gained by doing that? It’s only making the situation worse. The cops aren’t the ones who escalate, it’s the people who give attitude and resist. The minute you do that YOU’VE escalated the situation, not them.

Here's an idea: DON'T RESIST ARREST!! What's the common denominator is all these incidents? Rap sheet from here to Iraq, resisted arrest, and potentially going for or had a weapon. I don't care what race you are, that's going to get you hurt or killed by the police every time. In an interaction with the police there are only 2 things you need to do: 1: Do exactly what you are told. No more and no less. Weather you are innocent or not. 2: Do not give attitude and talk back. Answer the questions respectfully. Don't argue. That's it. 100% of the time you do that, you won't be killed. No matter what race you are.

The government has botched this every step of the way. We're in for a world of hurt. I don't know why it's so difficult to look at places like South Korea and Hong Kong and emulate what they have done, as they are some of the few places to get it under control. Because literally everywhere else, the growth is exponential, regardless of what measures are taken. Also the testing requirements are far too narrow. Only those with severe breathing problems are tested. Add the fact that several doctors have said they are sending many people home every day that they KNOW have it, but not severe enough for the testing requirements, and you've got massive underreporting here. This is the exact same approach New York took BTW. Look how well that worked out for them.

Yes, I know. But those people are going to be dicks no matter what we call it. Calling it the Chinese virus or squigglypoopsauce virus doesn't make lick of difference in their behaviour. EVERYONE on earth knows it came from China. Racist people are going to blame Asians no matter what we call it.
