That was great, yeah. Sometimes you're hit with these moments where you're like, "oh, that's where the entire budget went." And it's glorious. Epically sweeping, and sufficiently haunting. The battle scenes with the Crows and the North have punctuated both this season and the last. Can't wait for more. Was very happy that Edd somehow made it out of there alive. I expected him to have died multiple times before they boarded that final ship. His potential replacement as my favourite character while I awaited his death was that mom that showed up, but died within minutes after being mauled by those walker kids. Hers was the creepiest zombie awakening for obvious reasons.

They annnounced XCOM 2 today. Out in November apparently. Awesome, awesome news. Sequel to my favourite game in the last 3-4 years.

Sorry, I missed this post earlier. It was mostly all of the story choices they made. Or rather how they made them for me, rather than letting me take charge, which was my biggest problem. Dragon Age Inquisition was a lot more valiant and fleshed out effort in my books by Bioware. Not quite good enough, but it feels like they tried.

I have no idea how good this game is (not even if it's half decent or not), but I've never been more enticed by an screenshot before. https://www.gog.com/game/rebuild_3_gangs_of_deadsville Some sort of fallout, Zombie survival strategy game. Made by some chick from BC, so the location makes sense. Edit: I found the first game in the series. It's a pretty fun flash game: http://www.kongregate.com/games/sarahnorthway/rebuild Apparently this 3rd game is more complex? As I said, I haven't played it.

I'm disappointed with the move. Thought having him was one of the justifications for cutting Logan. They're banking a lot on Antolin. Also, Jordan Rodgers opted out of the team. Says he's not playing football next year. That'll be fine with all the QBs we have at camp though. Was interested to see how he could have done though.

Donaldson has been a bright spot. Even happier about the trade now. Someone has to balance out a rotation with 5+ ERA, playing below replacement level. -
Also, I can't wait to get home, open up the Witcher 3 and marvel at how poorly my system runs it. It's definitely what I want to currently be playing.

Mass Effect 3 is still the golden standard of how not to make a game for me. 3 years later and it's still the worst thing I've ever played. I want to go back and play the first two, but the last game in too many ways makes it all pointless.

I dunno if I'd personally recommend the game. I mean $6 isn't much, and I thoroughly enjoyed the game (beat it twice), but it's not that good from an objective perspective. It's kind of tailored to me as a Tomb Raider/Uncharted clone in a cyberpunk world, so it was easy for me to pick it up. It has a unique world, with an awesome sci-fi gimmick related to memory manipulation, an interesting take on class structures and privilege, and a visual presentation that's near sublime. The problem is the gameplay itself. The platforming while in that Tomb Raider mold is neither smooth, nor any more complex than just hitting the same button over and over and following indicators laid out by the game. The combat is almost hack and slash-y, but you're largely just bouncing your attacks off unflinching enemies while rolling around to avoid getting overwhelmed with your lack of crowd control. I kind of loved the game, and it's unfortunate that it was ignored to the massive extent that it was. Games with female protagonists fly under the radar a little too easily, unfortunately, and gamers helped prove Capcom right in their preliminary criticisms to the developers. But when it comes to the average person and this game I'd say watch the trailer, and if you think you just want to spend some time inside that world, it's worth it. If not, the game won't do anything to convince you otherwise.

I just love how Eddie Edward is playing for the Edmonton "Eddies".

I got Pillars of Eternity, so I started it up and was really happy with all the distinct customizations and markers for your character and their identity. You could pick: Their Gender One of Six main races Races (humans, elves, etc.) 2-4 subraces within that (where they're from and the base colour of their skin) 7 cultures (which among other things differ in clothing) 11 classes (with different skills and weapon sets) 9 personal backgrounds 15 colours of hair in 21 different styles and 67 distinct portrait/icons to choose from .... And I run into my exact ???? clone about 5 seconds into the game.

Was going to say that Philadephia must be pretty awful if they couldn't even begin to test the comedic presence he brings to a game.

So I avoid the massive download I face in this situation, in doing it your way by buying it online and.... Downloading it? Lol. I kid. It only cost $30, instead of the $60 it is on Steam, and I ended up with 2 copies for the former price in some round about way. So I didn't miss out on anything, if you were wondering. I'm not giving you the other copy though. It's not a warning to anyone here not to buy it, as it's from the UK and no one would be importing it anyways. It was just to point out the bulcraptery of Warner Bros here. I have Arkham Knight and The Witcher 3 preordered with them as well, and though I know The Witcher will be fine as they're just regional distributors, I don't trust their shenanigans when it comes to Arkham Knight. It's pretty inexcusable that they did that to their preload launch and otherwise. The single DVD shipout even proves that they themselves messed up the launch day, not Steam. For comparisons sake the only relatable situation I can think of in this case was Wasteland 2, but that was more like them giving only 5GB of 18GB. I've never really had anything like this before. It's quite hilarious, honestly.

Was bringing this up to highlight the preload debacle for Mortal Kombat X, and how it was only 3GB out of the required 40, and it only loaded the menus when the game was unlocked. ...Well, now I just got the game on disc. Well a disc, as it's just one DVD. It only gives you 3GB out of the 40 to install, while the rest you have to download on your own. What a joke, lol. Hopefully the game isn't as crap as Warner Bros' ability to prepare and ship a product. I guess they were to busy trying to figure out which campaigns to cut out of the game to sell as pre-order bonuses and DLCs to actually check whether they had a functioning product or not. Edit: Not 3gb, but actually only 300mb, lol.

I think they've earned it with everything their company has done as a distributor and developer so far.

The Avengers 2 - 7/10 It was decent enough, despite my reservations about it. Though I wasn't wrong about what made me think I would be disinterested in this movie. While watching the trailer was a turn off, and Ultron as a villain just made it hard for me to care. And at the end of the day, after watching the movie, I thought he was a really bad villain. Also, Vision was just incredibly lame and out of place, and that Black Widow/Hulk storyline made me cringe. .... But I still enjoyed the movie, lol. I liked that they didn't just focus on the big heroes, as after watching their movies you already know what Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor are all about. Liked that they attempted to give everyone a personality, even if they botched the Black Widow and Hulk as mentioned above. I walked away with Captain America still being my favourite hero, but Hawkeye was no longer just someone I wanted to like and instead now someone I genuinely cheered for. Adding Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver worked really well, and I think Scarlet Witch stole the how in a lot of ways. Even if I'm far less interested in all these Marvel movies now, I look forward to seeing her in them. I could see the struggle between Joss Whedon and Disney, and it kind of scarred the experience. I mean they wanted to cut the farmhouse out of the movie? Really? Why not just eliminate Hawkeye, and any of the heart from the movie altogether. Makes me wonder what semi-decent things they actually succeeded in cutting out in concessions from Whedon. I get the sense they needlessly forced things in there as well. All in all I'm still an immature child, and I thought the movie was cool. These movies on the whole will start to get too dumbed down and redundant for me soon though. Hopefully after the Captain America Civil War movie, as I really don't want them to botch that one. edit: And why did they take the husband/wife from Godzilla and turn them into twin brother/sister here? What the frack is that all about, lol.

I do like the promise that GOG Galaxy has. To be a less $&!#ty, DRM free version of/competitor to Steam. I signed up for the Beta at least. It won't really be relevant on the AAA scene though, with all major publishers currently tying their games to Steam's DRM. Hopefully it will garner some sort of presence.
-
Yeah.
-
I still have the game pre-ordered, lol.
-
You would register that key on GOG.com, and they would give you a DRM free installer to download for the game that you can really do whatever the hell you want with (like sharing it with a friend.)

Last week, Vancouver: Let's go head to head with a Canucks elimination game. This week, Portland: Let's go head to head with the biggest fight in history. Good job MLS schedulers, good job.

I'm both cheering for, and expecting Mayweather to win.

I think it's a case of personal preference. The only genres of games that I purely use keyboard/mouse is with adventure and strategy. I can't argue that it's not a more effective system in a lot of cases, but I just prefer the feel of a controller more often than not when there's an option. Especially when playing on a TV. A keyboard/mouse becomes cumbersome then.

I used to play with that goal of starting in the juniors and moving up to the NHL, but I found I enjoyed the CHL a lot more so I just stopped seeking promotions.
