  1. Howie Kendrick, Jon Lester, Andrew Miller? Yes to any of the above. All 3 fill needs, especially making a move for Kendrick.
  2. ... you sign one of the best players in the league at his position. Lol. Honestly, I'd rather take Martin over Cabrera at a similar hit. I don't know the team's salary figures going into the off season, but I hope this is a sign that they're loosening the purse strings even more. At least this shows that all these rumours around the team aren't completely hot air. Really hope they're not just going half in again for next season.
  3. And I won, lol. Sucks to see the Colts lose, and to the Patriots of all teams, but I'll take it and run.
  4. In my fantasy match, the only two players remaining in play are Vinatieri for me, and the Patriots defense for my opponent. With 2 minutes left, thanks to that last field goal of his, the score is now 87.10 - 87.06 for me. I need absolutely nothing else to happen for the next 2 minutes to win it. Biting my fingers right now.
  5. Funny game, that one. At least it was enough of a blowout that it will force Buono's hand. At least, this really, really should force his hand. I really don't care if Mike Benvides' contract extension kicks in starting now. I questioned the extension then, and after this season, I totally oppose his employment. They had zero reason to extend him before they played a game. I know they didn't want his future hanging over the team's head for a season, but he did little to earn it, and proved it was a mistake now. With Kevin Glenn, it seemed that Benevides was prepared to ride his own future on him, for some asinine reason. The biggest problem in trading for him was not even that we gave up a first rounder for him, but that because of his status as a "veteran quarterback", someone there felt obliged to give him the start again, and agian, and again. He proved he was incapable early in the season, but pretty much punctuated it halfway through the season with his short passes, and tunnel vision and lack of awareness. The other options weren't exactly glowing, but what does it take to force a coach's hand? If we had no Glenn in the first place, there would have been no choice but to play around with the backups until something was found. But with him, the coach should have been game enough to realize that status quo was not working, and make a change for the sake of making a change. Give someone a start, see what they can do. What we got instead was a season of more 2 and outs than first downs, and the same picture of Kevin Glenn frustratingly removing the straps from his helmet after he failed to make or see a simple pass. No excuse for the coaching staff, and the changes have to start there. Completely revamp the O-Line. Outside of Olafioye, no one has earned their keep. I understand it's hard to protect a QB who needs a 10 count before he makes a move, but they would've been a hamstring to even a MVP quarterback. On defence, you have many solid roster players, and some coordination that was keeping the team going strong for a long while. I don't know what easy moves there are to make here outside of a move for another elite safety. With McCallum, why randomly trust him to start punting again in the biggest game of the season? Didn't the entirety of last year teach you anything? If there's an insistence to keep him as a kicker, there's a need for a designated punter alongside him. Was not worth the import player trade off for Mitchell. What is it with the teams's complete lack of discipline? Especially towards the end of the year, there was just a parade of flags going against them, for the most needless of plays. At what point did the coaching staff not iterate there would be consequences? There has to be consequences after even one game. Consequences. Were they instead focusing their disciplinary action on ostracising long time veterans for basic off field conduct on a public stage? I'm sure the morale and stability of the defence was not impacted in these last 3 games, right? Start with the coach and work your way down, Buono.
  6. Gose traded to the Tigers. I would have guessed they kept him, but i don't disapprove the trade.
  7. John Wick - 7.5/10 Was actively trying to avoid watching Interstellar. My personal choice was Nightcrawler, but a compromise was every person's second movie of choice, which was John Wick. It was a fun watch. Would have been far better off picking this over Fury last weekend. Some of the best action sequences I've seen since.. well, ever. A more realistic take on the combat from the movie Equilibrium, with the much added benefit of it not being surrounded by the shitty movie that was Equilibrium. Keanau Reeves was quite awesome. To the point where I'm wondering when I'll see him next. Not even joking.
  8. Foxcatcher isn't in theaters yet. Birdman is, but that'd be your only option for viewing it for the time being.
  9. I really hope they don't run Marsh out of town like this. That would be so pathetic.
  10. Cool As Ice was brilliant though. It was such an absurd romance tale, that it somehow looped around and made sense.
  11. Will probably watch it for free on the interwebs whenever that's possible. Really have no interest in watching it after what's been said about it.
  12. Terminator 2, Aliens, Predator, Avatar. Edit: Raiders of the Lost Ark.

  14. The thing is that they extended Benevides at the beginning of the season before the team even played a match. Was a mind boggling move, seeing as he hasn't done anything particularly great since taking the team over. There should have been a lot to think about with him going into his last contract year. Instead he managed to get a couple of more years locked in without having to really earn them.
  15. Struggled with watching more than one episode because of him, in spite of my contrasting love for Martin Freeman. It's the same reason thay I won't be interested in that Alan Turing movie he's in, despite my being a big fan of the history and mechanics behind the enigma machine. He just comes off as smarmy and self promoting. I know people don't feel the same way about him, but I'm just unable to stand him, or any role he takes up.
  16. Oculus - 6.5/10 Honestly it creeped me out. I think it tapped into whatever fear I have of staring into mirrors and whatnot. It had me going the whole way, but I docked some points for the stupid ending. Rather than going for the fulfilling resolution they were largely working towards, it sequel baits. If you were to have been giving the movie no credit, you would have seen the ending coming from a mile away, but I was a little more hopeful. And I was wrong to be in that sense. But I think the movie gave me right reason to be hopeful. It was a more than decent horror movie, and in direct comparison to all the horror crap that comes out nowadays, it's at a level above in my opinion. Minus the ending, it's a lot more consistent than comparable films.
  17. I can see how that would change how the movie is seen. It doesn't really feel though that the movie lacked a sense of realism either way. They did a good job keeping the movie grounded. Based on everything I know about the movie, I'm going to have to believe you on that.
  18. Fury - 7/10 Mostly effective, if not gratuitously depressing. It's like a louder, poorer clone of Saving Private Ryan. Feels like it resorted to cheap tactics to generate cheap emotions, and outside of weakening the movie on the whole, it makes it that much more predictable. Was a funny thing, because I decided not to watch John Wick because I wasn't in the mood for something depressing. Thought Fury would be a lot more glorious, but there's little of anything to contrast its war is hell angle that's pounded on from start to finish. Basically it was a decent movie that I was not at all in a mood to watch.
  19. Am home. Thanks for the concern.
