Recipe for anyone who wants it:
Japanese Salad
4 cups shredded cabbage, or packaged slaw mix works too.
1 package crushed dry ichiban noodles. Try to keep same size as Chown Mein or so.
2 cups dry Chow Mein noodles.
1 cup bean sprouts
1/4 cup minced green onions
1/4 cup any nuts (I usually use sunflower or cashews)
Dressing:
1 tsp Sesame oil (tea spoon)
1 tbsp vegetable oil (tablespoon)
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp vinegar
1/4 tsp mustard powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 package of Ichiban powder, or add to taste
Dress upon serving, lightly toss. The crunchier the better.
Sprinkle on sesame seeds after dressed. Maybe a few table spoons.
Goes really well with sliced chicken breast too.
You're welcome, this recipe's from Good House Keeping ca 1970, and it's one of the better things I've ever eaten.
