  1. Canucks and Detroit are similar in that they ran on fumes for a decade trying to prop up an old core.. in fact, Detroit ran on fumes for 20+ years. It takes much longer for teams to reboot completely from such situations. Benning's prospect pool was literally bare when he got here, nothing with which to work, and everyone prancing around on their bloody my little ponies had NTC's! This is a great team on paper, and I believe that Green's gotta go before Benning's canned, because there's the workings of something special here.. but half a team of creative players are being told to play like freaking plugs, and it disgusts me. This is the least entertaining hockey in the history of this franchise, and it's not even close. No puck pursuit in the D zone, and simply "clogging lanes" is not bloody hockey. The book is out on Green's D zone system, and if the other team simply whips it around the outside, they are gonna get a HQ one timer chance nearly every single entry. It's disgusting to see statistics metastasize out on the ice.
  2. TT wanted to be a Canadien his entire life. Funny how it's Benning's fault though.
  3. Time to get back to the basics. Quit it with the cross-ice passes! Pick a wing, and march the puck up ice. If the other team touches the puck, hit them. Enough of this clogging the lanes crap. I'm sick to death of it.
  4. So why was he not played in the 1st game in Montreal? Was a no brainer decision, for he's emerged as the better of the two goalies.
  5. Taxi squad exists for a reason, we'll continue to see players rolled in and out of the lineup, at all levels, all season long.
  6. No, he is just becoming an elite bottom 6 guy.
  7. Not too many super dangerous shots against. 'Member when we used to get periods like that with those teams from 4-5 years ago? Ottawa's impotent perimeter game was on display, and 24 shots in a period doesn't tell the story alone. This team's doggedly committed to blocking up the lanes and capitalizing on turnovers, I'll give them that much.
  8. He's always giving away the puck. Usually it's passes across the ice / back to the blueline that get picked off.
  9. It's also the Canucks' system, they are content to just get between the puck and the net, and wait for turnovers. Low quality shooting gallery.
  10. Cheech with Hughson is pretty good coverage honestly. Ruckin' awesome.
