  1. Why isn't Kassian being used on the 1st unit in front of the net??
  2. What's the deal with this Graovac guy? Is he that much better than Gaunce? Do the Bulls have enough depth at center to do this? Looks like he was a 7th round pick by Minny in the 2011 draft for those who are curious.
  3. Yea! I agree completely. Kassian has some great vision out there and I can see him setting up Booth And Kes for some nice scoring opportunities. I did notice he was a little slow/tired-looking on the backcheck. He will need to work on that to really be effective as a top 6 NHL forward. With Schroeder coming up, and with guys like Jensen and Gaunce developing, our forward group looks pretty good We just have to hope the Sedins stay healthy (and motivated enough) to school these guys a little bit before they retire.
  4. Excellent! What kind of expectations should we put on him for points this season? I was hoping he would definitely improve on his 1 PPG pace from last season. Around 90 points would be nice.
  5. Wow, didn't realize Couture spent so much time developing. 4 years in the OHL? I think we should take our time with Gaunce, and not to expect too much from him right away.
  6. ^^^^Thanks for the pics. You can tell Gaunce has at least 3 inches on CoHo.
  7. That's really strange. What pissed me off is that Jensen is ranked at 66 with a 2.5 star potential. He gets scratched on my AHL team even.
  8. Hodgson still looks like he is treading quicksand. This is coming from a huge Hodgson nut-hugger as well. He has short legs, and therefore a short stride. He has maxed out what god gave him. He won't be getting any faster. Good thing about Gaunce is that he is alot taller, has longer legs, and his stride has room to improve. That's weird. In my dynasty he gets drafted 1st overall. I had to trade for him. He was like a 70 something right away with 4.5 stars potential. He put up 1 PPG in the AHL, and is now centering my 3rd line. He is an 86 overall and is 1 PPG as the 3rd line C. I'm planning on trading Kesler now. Maybe his rating went down after an update?
  9. Yea that's what concerns me as well. His stats have been going up sure, but they are still no where near what smaller guys like St. Louis, Briere, and Marchand were putting up at the same age. They were all at least 1 PPG in the AHL right away, and were close to 2 PPG when they broke into the NHL. I'm sorry, but I don't think he has what it takes. I think his ceiling is a top 6 forward in the AHL, most likely a 2nd line Center since he doesn't have the size to match up with other teams 1st line C's.
  10. You can thank the teams in front of us for going off the board. That's the only reason he fell to us. Not to be a homer, but he goes 2nd overall in NHL 13. Calgary's pick still make me lol. Kid was playing in a high school league. Thanks Feaster, the mediocrity in cowtown shall continue...
  11. Yea Joe Thornton is a bum. Couldn't trade him for a bag of pucks.... STFU NEWB
  12. Both were on the 2nd line. They are winning games though, so I doubt the coach will change things up.
  13. I'm really starting to think Gaunce was the steal of the draft. I hate to sound like a n00b, but I was playing be a GM mode in NHL 13 and Gaunce was drafted 2nd overall right behind Yakupov. I believe he had a 4 star potential as well, which is very good. The only reason I know this is I wanted to draft him for my team. Columbus took him and I had to trade for him after. I'm not gonna lie, it took Raymond, Joslin and 1st rounder to get Gaunce, hahaha.
  14. Dude! Thanks so much for putting this together. I'm really pumped about this kid now. What really gets me excited is that he looks like a sweet playmaker who can make some nice passes. Would love to see him flanked by Jensen and Kassian one day.
  15. I agree. Hopefully the Raymond experiment is over. Then again, I really like Burrows and Hansen with Sammy....
  16. Please, lets not taint this thread with this kind of talk. There are plenty of other threads in the general section where you can post this. The deal has been done, Kassian is now a Canucks rookie/prospect. Let's get excited about what he can bring to the table.
  17. Talk to Chicago and Pittsburgh about strategy in the salary cap world. That's how its done these days.
  18. You know what team is going to be great in 2 years. The Edmonton frickin Oilers. They have great management, and elite scoring talent coming up the ranks. They need a few solid D-men and they will be looking good. Flame me if you want, but it's true, the Northwest Division will get competitive again. That's the nature of the salary cap world. And no, the Islanders will always suck since they have horrible management, and no quality free agents will want to sign there.
  19. Its not like he was only going to spend this season down there. I have a feeling he will play this year and the entire next year on the Moose. He has plenty of time to adjust to the game and start putting up some points.
  20. Yep, gotta agree with you there. Granted I only caught the first half of the last game, Schroeder looked no where near being dominant. In fact, I think I only heard his name mentioned once. Lets be honest here people, if the greatest hockey organization in the world (Detroit), makes it mandatory for ALL of their prospects to play at least 1 year in the AHL or another mens league, maybe there is something to that? Let both Schroeder and Hodgson get acclimated to a mens game while ripping it up on the Moose. Being point per game in the AHL and leading a deep playoff push will do wonders for their confidence. MG didn't go ahead and get guys like Malhotra and Torres for no reason...
  21. What makes you think Hodgson will make the team next year? He wasn't all that spectacular in the OHL this season. I honestly think a full year of playing with men in the AHL will do wonders for his game. If Grabner can keep playing with speed he will make the team, and if Schroeder keeps showing off his skills right now he has made a strong case for himself too.
  22. You can change the template in the bottom right. TRY IT!
