ABSOLUTELY! Gillis brought in Kassian to be physical. The Sedins need protection. Kassian should protect the Sedins. Once the Sedins know that somebody has their back, they'll be able to return to form. If Vigneault isn't going to play Kassian with the Sedins, then Kassian belongs on the fourth line.

What a dramatic game for Burrows. Scores the first goal, gets robbed by Niemi afterwards, takes the penalty that results in the GTG, gets slew footed by Vlasic, then wins the game for us on the shootout.

Well he was drafted in 09. Considering we have patience and can develop our prospects properly, you don't think Schroeder will be given every opportunity to improve? Connauton never got a call up either. Nor did Bill Sweatt. Gillis is letting them develop.

I saw some great passes from Schroeder but he didn't have a great game. I'd like to see him play with Raymond and Kesler. Cockiness and selfishness don't necessarily go hand in hand. The way I see it, cockiness is fine- even beneficial- as long as the compete level matches the level of cockiness. And there is nothing more agitating than cockiness.

I believe he is a RW. Can you tell me more about this statement? It'd be awesome if he added a couple of inches or a lot of pounds.

The only way I see Schroeder making the team is if either Burrows is injured to start the season or we don't add another 3rd winger.. or both, which I hope is not the case. But if so, a third line of: Hodgson-Malhotra-Schroeder I guess it would be alright for their development, playing on a two-way line with a good defensive center like Manny, but if that's the case I wouldn't expect more than 35-40p from either of them, which would be very respectable in that situation. I don't think you'll see any 60-70p seasons right out of the gate for them.. Colin Wilson and van Riemsdyk only had 35p each (or were on pace for in Wilson's case) and Tavares/Duchene only had about 55p each. 60-70 is pretty unrealistic. However, if we do add a winger and Burrows isn't injured, Schroeder will be sent down.. and the line will probably be: Tambellini-Perrault-Schroeder I don't see Hodgson being sent down so he'll probably play 3rd line on Malhotra's wing, but if he is, I think the lineup will be: Tambellini-Perrault-Oreskovich or Tambellini-Perrault-Desbiens Schroeder-Hodgson-Desbiens or Olvecky-Hodgson-Schroeder I don't think you'll see Hodgson and Schroeder play the top line for the Moose. Tambellini/Perrault/Oreskovich/Desbiens, despite their lesser offensive skill/potential, are still more physically and mentally mature than those two, but I think you'll see Hodgson/Schroeder overtake them by the end of the season. But everybody has to remember we're still talking about potential right now and not right-here-right-now ability.

I don't know. I'm not a mind reader. None of us are mind readers. It's ridiculous to say that he feels happy for Kesler or that he is jealous of Kesler when most of us don't even know him personally and he hasn't stated it (unless he has).

It's clear you know nothing about respect in hockey.. I mean, where have you seen someone consider a dirty elbow like that Cormier's as nothing compared to the disrespect of a coach and his U20 team showing support for their teammate in doing something as small as not shaking hands? There's a word called solidarity. When you learn the meaning of it, come back and we'll discuss whether intention to injure another player is worse than snubbing another team for a post-game ceremony.

If he's performing like it, how is he not one? There's a lot more to hockey than skill. "Player A has a lot more skill than Player B.. but Player B outperforms him in every single way. Which is the better player?" Well, his contract is four more years at 2m.. he got a pretty big raise from league minimum to what it is now, so I think anyone that would call him "overpaid" was just blind. I mean, unless you're denying that he deserved a raise from the league minimum? Not always. A lot of it is chemistry. You can throw skilled players together and hope it works, but the players that read off each other the best will likely have the best scoring chances. I'll ask you this- what has Burrows done to lose his spot with the Sedins? Has he not produced enough..? Has he not worked hard enough..? I'm betting you're a guy that would take a Kovalev over a Doan ten times out of ten. Probably because Kesler is a better player. "Gear A works great in Machine A.. but Gear B, working well in Machine B, is of finer quality than Gear A. Both machines are doing very well and producing a lot. There's no guarantee that Machine A, if Gear B is inserted, will produce the same quality of products and at the same pace that Machine A is right now, but Gear B is of finer quality.. therefore, MachineA/GearB should work great together!"

1) Yes. I'll be the first one to say that I will not deny this at all. He'll put up 30p alone, he's skilled and hard working enough for that, but he's simply the best winger to play with the Sedins since Anson Carter. If he works, who cares about his skill level? I care about PRODUCTION, and the Sedins do better with him than anyone else they've played with. 2) If you pay close enough attention to anyone, you'll likely find their flaws. 3) Confidence? You want to talk about confidence? Look all around you. There's a reason he's confident.. he's producing. The point of our first line, the line he is on, is that it's aimed at scoring goals.. so Burrows puts his full out effort to score those goals because he doesn't have the talent to half-donkey it in the offensive zone. That tires him, so he may dog it in the defensive zone some time.. but we're not asking him to shutdown, we're asking him to help the Sedins produce. He's not one of our best players.. who calls him that? I peg him behind Kesler, Luongo, the Sedins, Demitra, Ehrhoff, and Mitchell (not in any order).. so he's about tenth best? Only on CDC would producing beyond your ability, work ethic, and confidence be bad things. Only on CDC would skill be a greater factor in determining what line a player is on than chemistry. So a 60p forward who gets his points off work ethic < a 50p forward who gets his points off of skill? How do you justify bumping a guy down, despite his production, because he isn't "skilled enough?"

Does anyone believe that Schroeder could potentially bust out like Parise did and score 80+ points? I mean, does he have a similar skillset to Parise? I know he "fell" and that anybody beyond the top ten considered to be an 80p forward seems like blasphemy now, but hey.. Getzlaf, Parise, and several other 20s have developed into 80-90p forwards. (Not comparing Schroeder to them, simply pointing out that 20s can become 90p forwards too).
