  1. "This is what's great about sports. This is what the greatest thing about sports is: YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME."
  2. Last I checked the Canucks are still amongst the top of the league in terms of attendance and revenue. They still receive extremely strong support despite their ineptitude. The players and managers get paid millions and millions of dollars to play a professional sport and it's up to the fans to ensure they are doing their "job"? You've actually got to be kidding me lol.
  3. 1) You don't need to tell other people how to "fan". 2) Give the fans something to cheer for, and they will cheer. We've seen it in the past with other iterations of this team. "Build it and they will come" Why would I cheer for players who constantly give up on the back-check? constantly make bad line changes that put their teammates in bad positions? constantly avoid blocking shots and board battles? Why would I cheer for GM's that take shortcuts in the rebuild because they and ownership don't have any foresight or patience to do things right? Why should I cheer for management that seems to have worse pro scouting than the average fan despite being a multi-million dollar department? Why should I cheer when I know the plan is completely faulty with no light at the end of the tunnel? That sounds more like insanity than being a fan. Not to mention the business perspective: why should consumers spend their hard-earned dollar on a product that is clearly inferior, especially when ownership has the ability to put out a better product but simply don't due to ignorance and/or incompetence? Again - give me a break.
  4. That's on him, and nobody else. Do it right and you'll build a winner, and the fans will be happy. It's about as simple as that. This all started when he forced Gillis to hire Torts instead of rebuilding. That's the fans' and media's fault? Give me a freaking break lol
  5. Again, the team has deserved exactly what they got. Piss poor ownership, piss poor management, piss poor on-ice product and effort for a decade straight. Asking fans to be positive about any of this is ridiculous.
  6. I really don't think so. This just seems like confirmation bias, or bias in general. Edmonton has been a joke themselves for a very long time. The only thing now is when you talk about the Oilers, McDavid takes up all the oxygen, so it's less about the team being trash.
  7. Sportsnet doesn't hate us. When they talk about us it is inevitably "negative" because we have become a complete clown show of a franchise.
  8. This team has received what they have deserved over the last decade or so.
  9. Yes but you haven't mentioned anything about the elephant.
  10. guys what did we do to deserve this last decade pls

Sold our future for a shot at a championship but our run gradually turned into a stumble as it went on thanks to injuries

  11. ????????????????????????? Not a chance we do this.
  12. Evidently, the owner is an idiot and only hires underlings that will fall in line with his idiotic plans. It's also very possible that said underlings are idiots on their own. So yeah, not a great situation.
  13. The proof is the trash results, trash culture and trash future Benning delivered. If you think this isn't the case then you simply aren't living in reality or perhaps you were in a coma over that time or something, I don't know. I've never said that everything Benning did was bad, but his overall body of work was putrid.
  14. [Poll] Who do you want removed from the roster? [Answer] Yes.
  15. I've heard enough "it was fine" and "it's not that bad" and "if we didn't pay X some other team would have" and etc. when it comes to Benning's transactions enough. The proof is in the pudding, clear as day, insert other cliche here. Garbage moves. If they weren't garbage moves, we would have been a better team. It's about as simple as that.
  16. T'was a joke, my man. (although it was a dumb signing by Benning)
