  1. What does that have to do with anything lol, every player eventually declines. What exactly did he say in the post you quoted that was wrong? Pretty much everything he says on his radio hits is spot on.
  2. What are you talking about lol Hansen was an excellent 3rd liner for 6-7 years in the NHL. Fantastic defensively, always gave full effort and chipped in some secondary offense.
  3. Embarrassingly low level of compete and effort on that 2nd goal. Not that it's any surprise, it's essentially the identity of this team to be soft and not care.
  4. It's obviously illegal but you can still do it, just don't put anything on paper, of course. Tkachuk did it with the Blues, I'm sure it's happened several other times.
  5. You'd need less than one hand if you wanted to count on your fingers the amount of players that consistently play "motivated" or "angry" on this team. If you think Saturday's events are going to change that you're kidding yourself.
  6. The current climate is reality. Yes, by traditional logic, a player like this ought to have good value but he simply doesn't in real life. Good players at *fair* cap-hits can have negative value, that's just how it is under the cap. There's no market for one-dimensional wingers that don't provide surplus value.
  7. If you're in the lineup you're considered healthy. If you can't contribute, don't play. His play has been lackluster for too long to blame it on one injury or another. Slow is one thing but timid and lazy is another and it has nothing to do with injuries. And I've been a Boeser apologist for years.
  8. It's not nonsense. It's very possible there are zero teams out there that would take Boeser @ his full contract while giving nothing back in return. You can consider that negative value. But we'll see. If the contract we get back doesn't totally negate the value of the assets attached to it, it can still be a positive value trade.
  9. Yeah this is fairy tale stuff, not happening. They've been crapped on by the media and their own management several times this year only to lay egg after egg. That game in Ottawa after JR called out Bruce they had a lousy performance as well, were lucky to win. We were also lucky to win against a tanking college team the other night, Boeser really only had 1 good period. We keep fooling ourselves by thinking: "THIS TIME, yes this time, not last time, or the time before that, but this time YES they will figure it out they will rally!" Not happening. You know they will disappoint.
  10. First of all I am offended by that personal attack. Second, I didn't say anything about management. You've always told me that I'm being impatient and this "rebuild" was on the right track. So what gives now?
  11. ?? Taj has no connections, he's not the mouth piece for anyone. He just reads/listens to media personalities and tweets what they say, and recently it's been more and more out of context and/or strictly to create drama.
  12. It wouldn't be surprising, Boeser has consistently put up numbers ever since he came into the league. But that doesn't mean it still wouldn't be a wise move. We obviously have a surplus of one-dimensional wingers. We can't underestimate the value of simply opening up cap space which will allow management to balance the makeup of the lineup. In a vacuum it'd suck to lose a top-6 player for nothing but that is the reality of the cap and value of non top-line wingers these days.
  13. Trade talk is likely to start picking up around the league. I imagine the rumor mill will start heating up in December and we may see moves around the league in January. Open cap space means potential for opportunity. If you have a chance to move out salary now you can pounce on a good deal later. The ability to move that cap space may not be available down the road.
  14. There was a case to to let him walk. Bold and risky, but perhaps astute. Cap space is a valuable asset. Right now it seems that we may not be able to get rid of his contract for free let alone getting an actual asset in return. Though I understand why management did re-sign him; for obvious reasons, he was a big "bounce-back" candidate, and Kuzmenko was no sure thing at the time. It's just unfortunate how lousy he has been outside of actual counting stats.
  15. Rebuilds aren't linear though, you're just being impatient. Forest for the trees. Right?
  16. Be tall at a young age = get drafted high = set for life in the NHL whether or not you can play hockey
  17. @aGENTwatch Myers on the 4th goal and say again with a straight face that he's a top-4 D-man Even after all these years I'm willing to accept an apology because I'm that much of a virtuous human being.
  18. There is only one correct answer, and that is sellers There is absolutely no logic to anything else. It would be a failure on this management team if they can't free up some cap or add some future assets at the deadline, preferably both.
  19. I dunno about you guys but I'm just really glad we have OEL locked up for 4 more years after this one @ 7.26M And it only cost us the 9th overall pick. What a bargain. With savvy deals like these, the budget will balance itself, as my hero Justin Trudeau would say. Thank you.
  20. Every situation is different. Linden is essentially Mr. Canuck to a lot of people, heart and soul of the franchise. Smyl played most of his career in the 80's when the Canucks didn't have much a history. Not to mention full 10+ year career in Vancouver and captain. Bure was a generational talent that led the league in goals 3 times, once as a Canuck. Sedins... self-explanatory. I'm not saying Luongo doesn't have a case, but I rather the criteria be more strict, at least going forward.
