[Signing] Maple Leafs re-sign Timothy Liljegren
Crimson replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Juolevi will never play another NHL game, Liljegren will. -

What do you think of Rathbone? -
You know you get a return for trading good players, right?
-
They've been no-shows in the first period of half their games since Christmas. To me that points to a leadership issue and the only way to address it is to move out Bo and Miller.
-
Yes. You can't keep coming back with the same team (with a lot of your players and the D getting older) and expect different results.
-
Miller + Horval + OEL at $23MM will look brutal in 3 years.
-
You guys are all talking like Miller/Boeser/Garland/etc are all out of team control after this deadline. The points would be valid but they can all still be moved in the off season.

(Proposal) Kravtsov for Motte + 2024 2nd
Crimson replied to RWJC's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
If you can get a 2nd for Motte you take it and run. If the Rangers offer up Kravtsov for him you make the trade call on the other line before you let them hang up the phone. -
That would be brutal. The team acquiring him could just flip him at next year's deadline to recoup the entire cost.

Team Canada unveils 2022 Olympic roster
Crimson replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
I can't believe Dubnyk isn't on there. From the interview he did on 32 thoughts he sounded really pumped for the chance but maybe he changed his mind... -
Can he though? Sure, we have Pettersson/Hughes/Podkolzin but those are top 10 picks that you expect to hit. Outside of them there is Boeser, Demko, Hoglander and Rathbone is looking like something. Otherwise there isn't really much there.

[Rumour] Coyotes gauging market on Jakob Chychrun
Crimson replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I was actually thinking the same thing about Dahlin the other day. I wonder if something like Hoglander + DiPietro + Hamonic (cap dump) would get it done. The problem I've had is that every dman I think of seems to play the left side... -
Is his contract really that bad? 1 more year @ $3.3MM. Oilers could have waived Koskinen and plugged in Khudobin. Also TIL that Khudobin is from Kazakhstan.

[Proposal] Myers to Montreal for Toffoli
Crimson replied to WEVEGOTMOTTE's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
People can say what they want about Myers, but the way this team is currently structured we are boned without him. Why would we further weaken the blueline to add a redundant piece up front?- 90 replies

This is exactly the reason no one is going to trade for him. You think other teams don't know this?
-
Well, at least this is well thought out and you put some effort into it. Sorry to say though that Dermott is not Schmidt and definitely isn't Panarin.

Ha so much for the “guys take less to play in Boston” narrative. -
[Report] Sharks claim Jonah Gadjovich off waivers
Crimson replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Gee, it's almost like the professionals are better equipped to determine who a player is likely to be... -

You can be waived and still be on the NHL roster. They do it for future flexibility/certainty if they decide to send him to the AHL. -

And how does he get there without waivers? -

I don't get the outrage. People should be happy that we aren't penciling him in as our second line winger... -
All these lines with Miller at C… he is much more effective on the wing.
