  1. He plays like Taylor Hall in the defensive zone. Like did you watch that segment where they tracked his movements in re defensive zone, Jake does the same thing
  2. This is exactly what I said, having Jake there pretty much eliminates any possibility of an odd man rush the other way and he's got a laser so If he does manage to get the puck he can wife it from the slot It's almost like jake is being told, do what you can on the rush but let those two work the boards, you jus worry about the counter attack He's gradually imporved as games have gone on, he saves his best for the later stages which is good
  3. Slow start to the game much like the rest of his line, but really picked it up in the second and third.
  4. Id actually like Virtanen on Petans line, Petan is more of a fisher it seems, and both McDavid and Virtanen want the puck which isn't leading to much
  5. I was just thinking that I feel like that's a set ply there because he's got the speed to negate an odd man rush the other way if they need it
  6. Agreed, especially with WD as coach he stresses puck battles along the boards like nothing else so unless Virt can add that to his game, expect at least a year in the AHL
  7. Agree 100% he can rush but he needs to learn how to support his teammates along the boards, mcdavid and lazar constantly outnumbered
  8. Im hoping that was just nerves for Jake because that wasn't a very good first period apart from one shift
  9. I worry about how his cycle game in the NHL will be because it doesn't look to good right now That being said his rush game is fantastic, we will just need the players to support him on a line, Brwndan Morrison at 27 would be the perfect player for him
  10. Not able to say that just yet, he's very dynamic and an absolute treat to watch skate! Having said that he makes a lot of the same Mistakes that Kassian does that infuriate WD. Having said that I think you can give him a pass because he knew he wasn't playing against a good team in Germany, if he does the same things against Finland and US well let's Just hope he doesn't
  11. He is just way too raw, he makes too many moves that would result in him getting benched at the NHL level Next year maybe it depends how he matures but more likely the year after
  12. Did you watch the 5 games against LA in the playoffs or did you just erase that from your memory? Booth hit like a truck in that series. Did do it often? No but when he did hit someone he hit them hard enough to rock them. You seem to have a pretty good grasp though Eh, tell me who is the better comparable? Evander Kane? Who
  13. This isn't trolling as much as it your negative vision of David Booth. In his first season in Vancouver Booth had a rough start yes but I remember going to a couple games right before that knee on knee hit against Colorado, and Booth was the best player for Vancouber by a country mile. You guys just remember Booth for his negatives on and off the ice, but his first season here, when healthy he was a heck of a player for a 10-15 game stretch. I also said a more skilled David booth so im not sure what your problem is bud. Ya I'd be so heartbroken If This was all Virtanen could do http://youtu.be/Gur7OJCeKc4
  14. This guy screams pre concussion David Booth, allbeit a little more skilled, the way he plays and honestly thats not a bad thing. Lets just hope he doesn't run into Mike Richards I guess. Much better third period although that moment where he had McDavid and Fabbri alone in front and took a sharp angle shot was kind a wtf moment. That being said Germany out shot Canada by a lot in the second, and that might have just been a coaching message to everyone to shoot the puck. Hope that Fabbri - McDavid - Virtanen line stays together
  15. He looks like a teenager playing against a team he thinks he can dangle through himself and score that highlight reel goal against. Trying too hard, and he needs to be careful or he'll find himself a scapegoat pretty soon
  16. No he meant in that shift im pretty aure As good as he is you're starting to see a little bit of that selfish play creep into his game but I think he knows he can score a lot against Germany and is playing like Leaving the d zone too early and bad turnover at one point trying to skate through 5 Germans Having said that, outstanding speed and a good hit
  17. How has his actual play been? My worry is that he is being groomed to become a fourth liner
  18. I only got home to watch the last 30 mins, but man Trips killed it tonight. Honestly he gets a lot of flak but that ending was brilliant
  19. Calgary is the most entertaining team in the league

Flames are for real. Very glad for em.

Rather see them have success than Edmonton.

  20. I'm curious as to what this does for Shinkaruk. Him and Bo seemed to be very good friends and watching him score combined with Hunters personality and I think you'll see a fire lot under him
  21. Whoever said he plays like zack Kassian defensivly is spot on. Has a lazy stick a lot of time on the back check and glides into the defensive zone lot. That said, underrated playmaker and good work ethic in theh offensive zone
  22. Guesses on Ice time tomorrow? Id say 7 ish minutes is probably what I'd expect
