It's a good idea, worth giving a test before the next season. I don't think it's too hard to control redundancy. If something about a player is newsworthy, or pertains more to that players relationship to the team, discussion can happen in both places. Threads are simply archived if a players is moved.
-
Hey Aircool, Thanks for the idea! I'll see about setting it up as a non-official alternative. I don't have much experience with Discord so I'd like to research it a little bit first.

Ill try to clear a few apparent my misconceptions here. First, I think you're taking the filter comment out of context. The original premise was to set a post count or date count requirement on thread creation. It would only apply if heavy traffic was expected and if I were to know that no moderators, including myself were going to be present. It would apply only in an emergency situation. There are still no plans to enact such a filter during normal periods. Second, we define trolling as posting specifically with the intent of antagonizing or attacking other users. Sometimes trolls will use a contrary opinion to further their aims, but it's quite easy for us to tell when that's the case and when it's not. I think you might be reading too much into the definition and applying it to situations outside.of that scale. This is not a discussion about filtering people whose opinions differ from the norm. This is about removing elements that clearly intend harm to the community. Although free speech doesn't really apply here (privately run), I strive for a free speech environment. Nobody is punished simply because their opinions are different from the norm. *Thanks JAY JAY and Cerr for your points

Jumping on train, will respond here as soon as I can

Usually a temporary thing. Clearing cache and cookies may help.

As Cerridwen mentioned, this can happen when the board is a little slow. If you want to remove the extra posts please just report them

If you're posting a youtube link, just paste the URL and hit enter a couple times and it should be automatically embedded. The same thing goes for images. If you need to host an image, you can upload it here or use http://imgur.com/, which may be a bit more reliable.

Yeah, I agree. The club seems to be quite happy with mediocrity. The current strategy is to search the depths of South America and Asia for cheap players, and hope they find a gem. All the DP's right now are wasting their pots. There's absolutely no willingness to spend the money required to get an actual, proven, skilled DP. This means there's a revolving door of so-so players like Robson, Mattocks, Hassli, Jarju, Le Toux, Reo-Coker etc... Unfortunately the one time the did find a gem, in Camilo, they let him walk due to embarrassing mismanagement. I wouldn't expect any changes for a long time with the current management.
-
Robinson also makes some very strange lineup decisions. He somehow makes a lot of changes without doing anything creative or effective
-
I'm sure Robinson has some say, but it's mainly Greg Anderson, Bobby L, and the ownership group (Kerfoot seems to be the most involved).

I feel like most Skytrain issues could be solved by having one attendant at each station. Seems like it would be possible if they weren't always gathered in one place chatting.
-
Weird, looking into it.
-
How so? The current editor is full WYSIWYG. What are you missing?
-
Sorry I can't help much with this, not connected to that part of the site.
-
@gurnPlease try again now.

Unfortunately I can't adjust much related to notifications. I'll keep looking though; there might be something I'm missing.

Technical issue

This is also incredibly confusing for tourists. especially downtown.
-
Yeah, they can switch them between one way and two-way at anytime. They'll show an X where the green arrows is if one way. The paddles are also lighting quick, there's no delay between people/beeps and there are a ton at every station. It's also easy to see your balance as you go through with the way the screens are positioned.

Can you take a screenshot? I'm not seeing what you're seeing.
