  1. Got a rental car while my Jetta is in the shop. Nissan Sentra, and no key, push button start/stop. What is this??????? I guess I'm getting old, I prefer stick shift to paddle shift, and a key to start/stop the car.

@chon derry - There is a chip in the key that communicates with the car. The key has to be a within a foot or two of the car for the start/stop button to work, so you can't just hop into a car and drive away without a key.

@Ghostsof1915 - My car (2016 Mazda 3 GT) has both the sport mode paddle shifting and start/stop button. Huge fan of the start/stop button, but I agree with the paddle shifting - nothing quite like stick shifting and using a clutch.
