  1. Too close to Washington State so I always love those Dogs.
  2. Keith Primeau's kid is a goalie, guess he didn't talk him out of it.
  3. I love Northeastern's Jersey's. Maybe we should rename the team to the Vancouver Huskies?
  4. TSN is totally missing the boat here. They should be broadcasting games at least on TSN2 or something. I'm happy at least it's on TSN GO, but it's entertaining put it on one of the regular channels.
  5. I think either way we can't lose.

    Nothing like Saturn V songs.....

  7. Hypothetical question. If Tram's rights were traded to Washington. Do you think he's still play in Russia, or leap at the chance to play on a team with Ovechkin?
  8. Seattle got blowed up real good.
  9. Sherman signing in SF is like Gronk signing with Pittsburgh. Or Aaron Rogers signing with Detroit?
  10. Looking at the odds on tankathon website. 8th worst is one of the best places to be. Your odds are almost the same as 8th and dropping to 9th. But you have half the odds a 4th place team for 1st overall. WTF? http://www.tankathon.com/nhl/pick_odds

      Gary gets what Gary wants.

It was apparently designed to discourage tanking but its ending up keeping the elite talent from the teams that need it. Watch Edmonton get (and ruin) Dahlin.

CDC was crying for a system like this a few years ago before the team became a bottom feeder.

Be careful what you wish for....

@SabreFan1 yah but we didn't think anyone would listen!

  11. The future's so bright. I gotta wear shades.
  12. She came from Providence, the one in Rhode Island.

  13. If the Canucks do thier due diligence. And Evander says he's learned from the past. And after signing he donates $25,000 to Canuck place or BC Children's Hospital. And he volunteers a lot of his free time to helping kids or just giving back to BC in general. Then by all means sign him. Maybe he will find that's a lot more rewarding and he turns into an even better player and person.
  14. You forgot immaturity, and two teams have moved him. Teams that need those same boxes ticked.
  15. Source? More like any prudent GM, he's kicked the tires. Not sure he was actively trying to get him.
  16. What went wrong with Griffin Reinhart? Did the Islanders rush him? Edmonton ruin him?

      @RetroCanuck

I agree with your plan for the Oilers.  Their only untouchable should be Connor.  Move Draisatl for a young elite dman.  Trade for Tanev, but force the Canucks to take the Lucic contract.  They would be instantly a much better team.

Since I hate the Oilers, I really hope they don't read your ideas.

    3. Baer.

      Baer.

Edmonton can get a defenseman without moving Draisaitl.

It would be Hall/Larsson all over again.

Plain and simple. Too slow for today's game. He would be a regular 10 years ago.

  17. The reason less people are playing hockey are: 1) Aging population. We're not a society of Gordie Howe's where we play hockey in our 50's and 60's. 2) Cost. There needs to be companies that produce good quality hockey equipment, that won't bankrupt parents who want to get their kids into hockey. 3) Injuries. Concussions, and other injuries are a turn off for some parents. Related to issue 2 I don't think enough research is being done to make hockey safer. I agree that since they've started using plastic covers for pads etc. Players are faster and bigger, we need gear that cushions and absorbs the kinetic energy. Making a sport more fun, and healthier for all players. You will always get accidents, and at the speed the game goes someone will make a wrong decision. I don't want to see hitting out of the game. But I'm sure we can have pads, and other gear that can be improved. Just my nickel thought.
  18. I am hopeful the league has learned from the last expansion, that gifting a team to allow it to be tops in the conference is too much. You'll see something better than older expansion drafts but I doubt, nearly as good as the Vega$ expansion was.
  19. Is it me? Or is there a heck of a lot of defencemen this draft? Time to stockpile?

Sedans are a hell of a lot cheaper than Sedins, smithers.

@Fateless I'm wary about putting too much emphasis on WJHC performance... especially for a player on a weaker team that gets placed into a lot more opportunities for success. I think Svechnikov and Tkachuk are more dynamic than Zadina.

rasmus sandin played on defence with boqvist and some think he was just as good. he is ranked, late first, early second.

  20. He has 98 games in college, 79 games in Utica and counting, and most likely playoffs in the AHL this year. He's a year younger than Matt Murray. Even if he makes training camp next year, I doubt we'd make him a starter. But I don't think it would ruin him to get 20-30 games as a backup. Given his great numbers in the AHL, I don't think there's much more he can learn there. I don't think playing in the NHL next year is "rushing" him.
