  1. Hundreds of times he's made catches like that. The one time he needs to make that catch....d'oh.
  2. Well I didn't see that coming.....
  3. Hayley Atwell, she wears it well.
  4. When was he a game changer? Brock Boeser is a game changer. Bo Horvat is a game changer. Edler is a game changer for the other team....
  5. I feel really old now. April 5/18 will be the 10 year anniversary of Trevor Linden's last game.

Honestly what other player in any sport has had a rival team come out and shake his hand after his last game?  Maybe the legends in their respective sport but I cannot think of heart and soul guy being honored like that.  I remember when he got that knee injury against philly?  And Robson knew his ironman streak was about to come to an end so I think it was BCTV at the time showed a montage of T-Lind and as a kid I cried.

Also mods you should create a Linden thread in the Alumni page along with some of the other Canuck greats so we can all reminisce.  I doubt anyone cares enough about Higgins or Bartowski to warrant much discussion there but Linden, WCE boys, Gino should drum up some discussion about their playing days.  Just a suggestion.

if you talking heart and soul guys, you have to mention stan smyl. he was the gordie howe of the canucks.

  6. The real tragedy is had Luc never had his accident, the Canucks probably wouldn't have given Edler the kind of contracts he was getting, and he would have been put into a number 3-4 spot, where he'd be more comfortable. Or possibly traded Edler when his value was higher.
  7. Well Langley is out of my way, and the PNE was on my way home, only problem is only now am I off well in advance of game nights. But GO GIANTS!
  8. Just twist that knife a little deeper for the Bills.
  9. Sheep to get clobbered in the next round.
  10. There's a long history in the NFL of QB's that may not have the best arm, the best vision or instincts. But playing mistake free and short passes with a high completion percentage makes a lot of mileage.
  11. I think Troy Ring of the Trail Smoke Eaters should get a tryout with the Canucks. For two reasons. He will at least pass it to Boeser. He'd probably make less mistakes than Edler.

The ability to not make as many mistakes as Edler is really not that hard

Has anyone told Edler that he gets a point if he passes it to Boeser and Boeser scores? Maybe that's the issue.

  12. What's his best position, winger or centre?
  13. Hi Gary, this is Aquillini. You know how we haven't had a first overall pick in our entire existence? I have a few cousins in New York that have people that know people. You know what I'm saying?
  14. I said in another post we could have 3-4 rookies in the lineup. This is not because we're rushing them (ala Edmonton) it's because depending on training camp we could have an injection of youth. Juolevi has played in Finland this year. Dahlen has played in Swedish-1 for 3 years. Adam is in year 3 in Northeastern. Depending on guys like Lind or Gadjovich, or our other prospects. They just might be playing well enough to earn a spot. We might have one, or many. It just makes Benning a little more busy to free up roster spots. It's a nice problem to have.
  15. ESPN's Seth Wickersham released a story on Friday divulging a rift between New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady. Wickersham wrote the problems are so deep that there is "a palpable sense in the building that this might be the last year together for this group." All three have been with the Patriots since the team drafted Brady in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL draft, months after Belichick was hired. The team has since won five Super Bowls, and enjoyed unprecedented dominance over the NFL, making the playoffs in 15 of the past 17 seasons and posting a 237-115 record overall. Wickersham reports Brady's body coach and business partner Alex Guerrero has caused a significant amount of friction between the quarterback and the head coach, along with the team's medical staff. Belichick limited Guerrero's access to the team last month after years of enjoying complete admission to the Patriots facilities. Guerrero's advice, at times, directly opposed the instructions of the Patriots medical staff and left players unsure of whose instructions to follow at the risk of alienating either the head coach or Brady. Wickersham: 'Tom wanted Jimmy gone' Wickersham: 'Tom wanted Jimmy gone' The ESPN report adds Brady was unhappy with Belichick's decision to draft Jimmy Garoppolo as his successor in 2014. According to Wickersham, high-level Patriots meetings, including a half-day sitdown between Kraft and Belichick, led to the owner giving Belichick to directive to trade Garoppolo before the Nov. 1 trade deadline and look for the team's quarterback of the future in the 2018 Draft. Belichick, hoping to see Garoppolo succeed, traded him to the San Francisco 49ers and offensive-minded head coach Kyle Shanahan for just a second-round pick. Wickersham reports that Kraft's involvement with football operations left those close to Belichick with the feeling that the dynamic had become unsustainable. It's unclear what the future holds for the Patriots, who will host a divisional round playoff game next week, but Wickersham's report suggests Belichick could be coaching his final season in New England. Brady, who ESPN reports was elated by the Garoppolo trade, plans to play into his mid-40s.
  16. Rugby 7s on March 10 in Vancouver. I get out of breath just watching them.
  17. Gruden's press conference. As a partial owner, we're staying in Oakland and building a new stadium here.......
  18. Have him practice as a kicker he can be the first Running Back/ Kicker for Seattle.
  19. Who is that masked man? Russell Wilson has to be the Seahawks MVP this season for sure.
  20. Go to the PG Threads. You'll see pretty much everyone complaining about our defence for the exception of Tanev (Who folks still want to move, because he gets injured and he's not a big body). Then you get a big body who plays with an edge and fans get their knickers in a knot when he misses an assignment (Gudbranson). Are you telling me if training camp has Dahlin and Juolevi you'd hate it?
  21. Not possible, we're talking bout' cdc here.....
  22. Don't let the door hit you on the way out....
