The Toronto Maple Leafs' collapse continued on Saturday night.
Darren Helm scored a hat trick and the Detroit Red Wings beat the Maple Leafs 4-2 for their eighth consecutive loss.
Toronto started off strong in the first, but were heavily outplayed in the final two and were booed off the ice after the game.
The last time the Maple Leafs lost eight in a row without picking up a single point was back in 1996.
Cody Franson opened the scoring halfway through the first in a solid period for the Leafs.
Detroit netted three unanswered goals in the second period including two from Darren Helm, one of which was shorthanded. Joffrey Lupul scored late in the period to bring the Leafs within one.
Helm scored on a breakaway in the third to give him the hat trick and his team a two goal advantage.
Toronto remains in 10th in the Eastern Conference, two points behind both the Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets for the two Wild Card spots. Both have two games in hand on the Maple Leafs.
