  1. You need a buyer who has $1 billion+ dollars to purchase the team. Now let's say you find a buyer. How do you know the new owner will look at long term team building? It's just as likely since the new owner is out a lot of money, they want to recoup that money as quickly as possible. And might just want playoff revenue, not a Stanley Cup run. So basically you're getting the same thing, just a new owner.
  2. Jaxon Nelson 6'4" 220 lbs. 8 goals, 14 assists, 22 Points, 10 PIMs, +10 in 35 games.
  3. Long term no. Short term yes. That's why I'm worried if the team is backed into a corner again, it might become the only option. The Benning Curse lives on!
  4. The thing that worries me. Is the team might look at the savings of a buy out of OEL out of desperation. Because it saves a LOT of space next season. A cap hit of $147,000 (all numbers rounded up) then jumps to a $2.3+ million hit in 2025, but 2026-27 its a cap hit of $4.77 million for two years, then it drops back to $2.13 million for the next 4 years. https://www.capfriendly.com/buyout-calculator/oliver-ekman-larsson I can see the team doing something that desperate if they can't start moving players. The bottom line even if we clear cap space. Don't run out and start getting UFA's. Start using our prospects, and going after College UFA's that can be more cost controlled. Picking up free prospects when you can. And try and start keeping cap space and trying to get draft picks.
  5. OEL 2021 79 Games played 5 Goals 24 Assists 29 Points 52 PIMs +5 2022 54 Games played 2 Goals, 20 Assists, 22 Points, 22 PIMs, - 24 That looks more to me he's been playing hurt all year. We're not going to be able to buy him out. Ownership I don't think wants to pay that high a price. However you can see how he plays when he's healthy next season. If he's still struggling, then let him go.
  6. I'm wondering instead of 4 forwards, and 1 defenceman on the power play. If we should just go back to 3 forwards and 2 defenceman? That way if the other team breaks up the play. We have 2 defenders that can retreat back into the Canucks side of the ice and defend properly?
  7. I really want Brock to succeed. He's not a bad player. He's got 41 points. But he seems, uninterested. I'm hoping this isn't one of those situations where he played hockey because his father loved it. And now his Dad is gone he's lost the passion for the game. If he was making $4.5 million or so it might be ok. He's a nice guy. And if you push him, and he gets mad, he can really be engaged. But it seems his heart isn't into it.
  8. One of the things I remember about the Rockford Files TV series. He'd duck into a Jack in the Box and get a Taco with fries. :D
  9. If I ever hear that song, I can't help but think of this scene.
