  1. Depends. If you need a screwdriver and you are only given a hammer that doesn't work very well.
  2. Can't be. AlfLeafs rights are with Toronto.
  3. Johnny Hockey and Laine ask to be traded one week later (G5). (Ghost chance level 5)
  4. I'm no fashion person, or expert on clothing. But just looking at the cap it looks like a cheap knock off, you'd find in Hong Kong for $15 CDN.
  5. I get that. I'd rather expect the worst, and hope for the best. It's going to be a tough job.
  6. Unless PA has some tricks up his sleeve. I cannot see this team as it stands, with basically two solid d-men, one solid goalie, and maybe two lines, being anywhere close to the Panthers. I'd be happy to see them do well. But right now I don't see it.
  7. I understand. But do want 2-3 years of maybe making the playoffs, and getting clobbered in the first round?
  8. I get the why for Hronek. I just feel it's the right type of move at the wrong time. The team needs to get draft picks and prospects. In order to get out of this cap crunch, draft picks work. I get it, it takes time to develop. But the team should be trying to save cap space, not add another issue for next season.
  9. Put the shoe on the other foot. Even if Myers was willing to go to Chicago. If you were Chicago would you do that deal? I wouldn't. Unless Michkov was still available at 11, then I could see them doing a trade like that at the draft.
  10. So every company has a perfect track record of hiring and firing? Sounded to me Rachel had some baggage of her own that she brought. Maybe Rachel shouldn't have been hired in the first place? As for the CBA, Arizona did far worse. Coaches and teams have done stupid stuff and been fined. You'd have an argument if the team kept getting fined for violating the CBA for the same infraction over and over. Yes the Bruce issue was bad optics. I would have liked to have seen it handled differently and more respectfully. However it looked to me, management should have started talks with Ric, and advised they'd hire him in the offseason. But maybe Vancouver wasn't the only suitor? We don't know the whole story. Has the new management made deals like Benning in the OEL trade? Nope. Maybe give it another season before you lop off managements heads.
  11. I understand why though. If they turfed Shanahan. They would have to hire a President First, then a GM. And that might take a while. I'm curious what the board is thinking. Because if things don't work out. They might be blowing everything up.
  12. I think a lot depends on the player. If that player had great hockey sense, leadership ability, was able to change his style of the game. And could be impartial and see "what's good for the team". I think there's a lot of ex-players that would make good managers. Even players that just went the NCAA route, and got management experience. But I think the best way is to go to Junior and learn the ropes. Then work up to the NHL.
  13. I can't do that. I can't support the Coyotes because they once were the Jets. I can't support the Canes, because they were once the Whalers. I can't support the Stars because they were once the North Stars I can't support the AV's because they were once the Nordiques. Having a team in a market that cared about the club, and they bailed for more money, or a better arena bugs me. It's probably the Grizzlies, Supersonics, Raiders Effect.
  14. I guess they won't be buying jerseys then. Doesn't Fanatics have the contract now for NHL jerseys?
