  1. Injuries and body strain caused by injuries get worse over time to the point where it just becomes impossible to do the stuff that was natural to do before. Yes, he was pretty good last season but I noticed him hobble when retrieving pucks. There were instances where he got beat on the puck that the forechecker had no business getting.
  2. LTIR. He clearly has some sort of chronic injury. He can barely skate compared to the years past.
  3. Brown, Gretzky, Robitaille. One of these is not like the other. If they got a statue for Quick or Doughty or Kopitar, it would be a different story. All three of these guys have strong potential to enter the hall of fame. Brown on the other hand... It's like, if we won the cup in 2011, they erect a statue for Burrows. Like WTF???
  4. Just out of curiosity, how do you know Tryamkin so well? Have you been following him in the KHL games? How do you even watch KHL games from Canada?
  5. lol Maybe. But Boeser needs 50 strides to reach the top-end speed. The rink is not that long.
  6. Agree. That is probably why every team prefers Garland over Boeser. I'd say Garland is gone (or it's Demko).
  7. You underestimate us... Retain 50% for the remaining 8 years!!!! Let's go!!!! Trade Millerzzzz azz.
  8. Hmm, I guess there will be a bidding war between teams wanting his service for one season to help push for the cup. The team acquiring him knows he is a pending UFA and very unlikely to re-sign him. So the price won't be sky high, that part you are right.
  9. Yes. Kesler had full NTC and there was no bidding war. JB still managed to get 1st, Bonino (3C), and Sbisa (6D). I guess one difference compared to Kane is that Kesler had terms left in his deal so Vancouver didn't have to trade him if the return was truly underwhelming. Chicago had to get something as Kane is a pending UFA.
  10. Kravtsov wasn't even trying hard. I would have expected a hard-skating player on his first game for the new team to make a strong impression. I think there's a long way to go to correct that attitude. My feeling is that NYR gave him up at that price for a reason. It's going to take a lot of work to change his attitude. I don't think we played well except when Petey-Kuz-Beau or Hughes was out on the ice. Dallas outshot us 2-to-1 and Demko saved us from getting blown out for 7 or 8 goals. As much as I have been clamoring for a Miller trade, this is how it is going to be without Miller. Miller is able to maintain puck possession against almost any other line in the league except for the very elite 1st lines. I guess trading Miller still should be considered but there is no way the team comes out of the retool in a year or so if they trade Miller unless we draft Bedard or Fantilli. Trade Miller and we will suck for a bit, maybe 3 years depending on who we draft and who we get back in a trade. Don't trade Miller and he might block us from progressing into contender status 4 years later. It's a conundrum. Considering JR's insistent on the word "retool", I don't think we are trading JT.
  11. Gotta admit, this is how it's going to be if we trade Miler. We will get dominated except for when Petey or Hughes is on the ice.
  12. Let's rest Demko for trade related reasons. This game should have been 7-4 Dallas without Demko.
  13. Honestly, I barely even notice Boeser and Kravtsov for the whole game other than when they are dumping the puck in.
  14. lol Bedard-Michkov could be Crosby-OV of the next generation. If there is a universe in which we get both and they are in our lineup by 2024 along with Petey and Hughes, I'm going there. Edit: sorry. I thought Mikheyev was Michkov.
  15. I'd say that the LA would look to add without subtracting from their current roster. Iafallo is a roster player. He is playing an important role on LA. And the return doesn't include an RD. The whole point of giving up Demko to a divisional rival is to address our weakness on RD because that's hard to address otherwise.
  16. Can’t believe a Florida team has three cups in 20+ years of existence while we have zero and only three appearances to show for in fifty years.
  17. If he thought Jeannot puts them on top and gives them another SCF appearance, then those picks are well worth it. They don't have forever with their group and might as well do their best to make it 4 straight SCF appearances. That would be something that we haven't seen in a long long time. And we get to enjoy the Leafs exit in the first round at the hands of the Lightnings yet again and watch TSN explode.
