    Just got assaulted lol. Some dude came up to me while I was smoking and repeatedly asked for a cigarette in a threatening tone and began tapping my chin. After I refused a few times, he hit me.

      I'm assuming he was either high out of his mind or mentally ill. Either way, it hurt like hell and I was left in a heap. Purposely avoided walking home that way after that.

      I once got asked for a cigarette walking home from the movie theatre. I said "Sorry, no. Don't smoke" and the next thing I knew the guy thumps me in the face and runs away crying.

       

      It was bemusing. And sore.

      @smithers joe I start in mid September, which is quite good as I need to find a place to live and the Fringe Festival is on throughout August so things are crazy expensive right now.

      It's my mom's native language and I wish she'd taught us to fluency when I was younger though. So much easier to soak it in when you're a kid. :lol:

      Yeah, they were a pretty fantastic band for a while.

       

      The saddest thing is listening to the lyrics of Floating in the Forth. "Is there peace beneath the roar of the Forth road bridge?". Haunting.

    Ran the lotto simulator 26 times, because that's how many rolls it took for us to get #1.

    I know it's just a sim, but it made me really annoyed. One of CHI, NYR, CAR and MTL leapfrogged us pretty much every time.

      Compared to continental Europe the North American rail network is horrendous. I always prefer to travel by train, but in Canada and the US it's both slow and horribly expensive.

      Milankovitch cycles aren't sufficient to explain the rate of current warming.

       

      And FYI, it's called global warming because it refers to the average global temperature. Localised cooling doesn't disprove anything.
