  1. I said before the tournament that Canada would struggle to get a point. They deserved a lot more against Belgium, but they were outclassed today.

The challenge now is building upon these performances. You have a freebie for 2026 and don’t even need to qualify, so it’s something to aim for.

Canada outplayed those losers, lucky, Canada will get atleast 3 points in next 2 against inferior competition, not worried, this is our game, our fans owned that entire stadium

Canada played well, but they’ve accomplished nothing to justify labelling Croatia (or even Morocco for that matter) as inferior opposition.

Croatia are an aging side but they’re still full of class and dangerous, and Morocco are stubborn and well drilled.

I knew the guy, didn’t recall the name.

So people don’t have issues with all the other nonsensical stuff in a fantasy show, but superheated ash is the hill they want to die on?

Nerds give geeks a bad name.

Bad writing is bad writing, whether it’s fantasy or not. There has to be some sense of realism or I don’t think it’s as enjoyable.

  4. I enjoyed it but for the ridiculous writing at the end. People surviving pyroclastic flows in TV / movies does my head in. I get that it’s fantasy, but it has to maintain some form of realism or it just becomes a joke.

Also why the hell would you not check the package??? Fix the writing and it has potential.

Adar is by far the most interesting (and, unbelievably, likeable) character in the show. The most well acted too.

  5. I was indifferent to her as a person. But honestly can’t stand the monarchy and the media hysteria that accompanies them. Unbearable.

96 is a good age to go and she lived a privileged life, albeit one I wouldn’t want myself. Perhaps best to leave it at that, but despite what the media would have you believe many folks north of the border simply don’t care.

 Not at all. There just doesn’t appear to be the same arrogance about them and they seem like a likeable enough bunch, even if the media seem to be trying their hardest to change that.

I watched quite a few of the games and I genuinely think that it was an inspiring event for young girls and women, so credit to the organisers and all those who participated.

  7. It’s greed on both sides, let’s be honest. The World Cup shouldn’t be about money though. Even the less talented members of the squad are paid well above the average member of society.

How about forgoing that bonus and putting it into developing the game at a grassroots level instead?

Leaving fans who have spent hard earned money on tickets and possibly travel / accommodation is really poor.

Watched "Everything Everywhere All at Once" (newer indie film), and for any fans of Kingsman and other visually outlandish films, you'll love this.  Same for fans of films with depth in storytelling.  It's hard to explain in words but best experienced.  11/10 if I could give it that, really loved it (also was my first time laughing 'til I cried).

Saw it tonight. Movie of the year for me, although probably not everyone’s cup of tea.

I was grinning from ear to ear for the duration of the movie.

    Last world cup

    Canada lost

    0-1

    0-2

    0-2

I think this squad will win more than a game this year.

I wouldn’t get your hopes up but you never know. Depends on the luck of the draw and I’m sure you’ll put up a decent fight regardless, but CONCACAF is as weak as it’s been for a while.

Congrats anyway. The buzz of a WC is hard to beat.

I don't think it's lack of effort. The Canucks just aren't good enough, they never were. This belief that they're a playoff team and "you never now!" has to stop. Build the damned thing right for once. Sell. Draft. Develop.

They’re good enough to make the playoffs but not close to being a contender. If Bruce had been here for the duration of the season I think we’d be comfortably in a playoff spot.

We need to capitalise on the insane trade pricing we’re seeing just now and get some valuable assets in return this week.

Boeser should be gone along with a few others.
