  1. yeah but talent only go so far. talent without will gives you wellwood...
  2. him and MDC are both #24, one in red, one in white. not sure why. Edit, looks like Theodore is also #24 in Black... so odd.
  3. this early? they are just evaluating players still.
  4. that's not the 4th line, that's the second white line and it's just a listing for practice for reporters to identify who's who. it literally means nothing other than he's #24 in a white Jersey.
  5. the weekend before this one. it was on nbc sports in the us.
  6. i gotta say he convinced me that he has the potential to be a great NHL goalie after that game i saw. looked really solid. I have no doubt he'll be the starter for USA in the WJ and he'll give teams fits.
  7. Hopefully he, and his team, start to turn it around now.
  8. that was from this cutting edge of journalistic endeavors back in 2013, published in his first year post draft, but who knows where she got that from or when it was done (probably a pre draft interview or something) http://www.hercampus.com/school/u-maine/campus-cutie-benjamin
  9. yeah, he attended 2 summer camps already, and our scouts go to his games to give him advice on things to work on all the time. he seems to be really appreciative of that in this article from last season: http://www.pressherald.com/2014/02/14/ben_hutton_s_a_good_skate_after_all_/ also, i just found this article about maine's craptastic season, seems like the writer has no criticism of him while he raises issues about pretty much everyone else and he offers an insight to his dropoff in points: http://www.pressherald.com/2014/12/06/no-single-reason-for-umaines-hockey-losing-streak/ also it seems like he's frustrated with his team's performance to date as well, but isn't assigning any blame. already saying all the right things: http://www.pressherald.com/2014/11/27/umaine-freshman-goalie-continues-to-learn-despite-losing-streak/
  10. he wouldn't sign with the k-wings even if he ends up playing for them (which i doubt he would). he'd either sign with the canucks or comets and the be assigned to wherever he's going to play. and yeah, resignation takes effect immediately, as soon as he declares he's going pro he's instantly out of the NCAA with no ability to return. he could still take classes, but he could no longer compete on their roster.
  11. comets or canucks.... do the salmon kings even exist anymore?
  12. he has to officially declare that he's leaving school to turn pro, even to test the waters, since you cannot have an agent while in the NCAA. http://www.lsusports.net/fls/5200/assets/docs/ad/compliance/pdf/agents.pdf?DB_OEM_ID=5200 basically if he wants to test the arctic waters he can't go back to school. and there would be no incentive to do so, since his stock is at an all time low. the only reason he'd leave is to get onto a better team which will help with his development, and there's no reason he wouldn't go with the canucks, since we have one of the best AHL teams in the league right now, and he would make it better.
  13. as long as he keeps his head up, and stevens does not make a comeback for a division rival, that would be amazing.
  14. It hasn't been widely reported that he is, whereas it was the narrative from day one for McNally. I admit he might be, but there are no indications that he is.
  15. end of semester is always an easy out time, that would mean this month. also you can make arrangements to finish classes online if leaving mid semester (like Schroeder did) or just drop and retake later (during summer or online later). he's not committed to finishing all 4 years before going pro like McNally is/was.
  16. with his performance this season? that will not happen. interest would be at an all time low.
  17. i think it's a very real possibility that hutton goes pro at the end of this season, or potentially even mid-season.
  18. what's evident is that the team around him is worse than last year (hard to believe as they were pretty bad last year too), and the goalies are far worse. Maine is just bad.
  19. The first goal was a guy shooting through a d-man (might have hit the defenders skate upon release) looks like it tricked Thatcher not something most goalies would have stopped either. The second goal was just bad luck, guy was on the goal line in the corner, throws it in front with no one there but demko's own d-man, and it bounces off his skate and into the net. No chance for demko on that one. He made a number of amazing saves during the game that kept his team in it the entire way. I was impressed with his play all game .
  20. For tonight? 1a -1 6 shots 3 blocks
  21. Saw a period of demko's game He looked really solid, had some impressive saves, looks really big in the net, I really liked what I saw. Good mobility and fast glove, gets set up square to the shooter early. Gonna watch the rest later.
  22. that would be very unlikely. he'd have to get injured in the preseason like bo did. and a conditioning stint would not burn a year unless he came back to the nhl after that stint and then proceeded to play 10 NHL games.
