It's a great trade for both teams.
Toffoli will solidify that Horvat/Pearson line with more scoring. He'll hold down the fort especially until Boeser gets back. Tyler Toffoli is a huge asset.
Tyler Madden is a great prospect obviously, but by no means is he a for sure thing. He's undersized and a 2-3 seasons from making the NHL. Undersized guys do make it more often these days, but Tyler is a ways away. He's also a C, and with the Canucks having Horvat, Gaudette, and Miller there, Madden would have a tough time fitting in any time soon.
Maybe Madden ends up becoming a Gaudette, but Toffoli is a big piece right now for this team that is competing. Obviously the season would likely look very different without Markstrom, but we have Markstrom, so we can't really make that argument.
Schaller is a cap move. Dude wasn't doing much here. He was a fill-in player. He had 4 goals in 3 games in October, but has had 1 goal since then. Decent PKer as well and 4th line guy, but Toffoli is great defensively and on the forecheck. He'll compliment Horvat and Pearson very well. They could even try him with Petey.

I hope he does some serious thinking for the rest of the season. I'm sure he and the team did their due diligence with his health concerns and tried all the right things, but this is just how it is. The guy should take now and the summer off.
Maybe give it a go for training camp if he's feeling good but even then I'm not sure.

I think our team needs to look at that little highlight package CBC had of all the non-calls on Petey. That should show them a lot of times that they didn't defend him for.

Lowkey, Loui Eriksson would be very loved by fans if he was earning like $2-3 million or less. The guy has always been great at fore and backchecking, but just hasn't put it together much offensively in Vancouver.

Think I will show up 20 minutes late and will be right on time
Not sure I'd want to miss the captaincy reveal. We all know who it is, but still a cool moment.

You can put Virtanen on McDavid's wing and even McDavid won't be able to get Virtanen to score. Just look at WJC when Virtanen was placed on the line with McDavid, completely f**ked up that line and Virtanen was quickly removed from McDavid's line.
Emphasis on when I said 'possibly'. Nothing is for sure with Virtanen.
Sometimes he looks so good, but it's not often.

Sutter, LE, Jake, schaller all need to be off this team
Jake could possibly work on this team if he wasn't on a line with two checkers. I don't think he'd drag a Baertschi-Gaudette-Virtanen line down.

I like how in the Canucks one in that article it says,
"We’ll withhold final judgment here, however, until we see Brock Boeser’s contract.".
But it doesn't say that in the Leafs one about Marner.

Boeser is going to sign before the season so I'm not worried.

As amazing as Alexis Lafreniere looks, that's a lot to give up for a lottery pick that might not even be 1st overall.

I think the problem is most us fans just see the cap dollars and the hard figures. Breakdowns of what he gets each year. But that is just the simple break down. You start going into performance bonuses, and all the other nuances of the contract there is so much fine detail the player, agent, and team have to settle on. I’ve been part of some large business transactions in my career, and have controlled and executed job plans with budgets well north of 10 million. I can tell you nothing is that simple when the money gets that big or bigger. So many moving parts have to be considered.
We just aren’t privy to the fine details so we rattle on like we think we know better...but we don’t lol. He’ll get a new contract and we can all calm down. You guys are both correct, it all takes time!
I'm even more not surprised because if you follow Brock's Instagram, he's done nothing but have fun at his lake house this summer. Surfing, boating, etc all those lake activities with all his buddies there. He even had Stecher there for a bit and others. He probably hasn't talked contract too much with his agent just yet.

I don't know why anyone is worrying. We have another 2 months. Horvat took awhile to sign too.
Sometimes deals take longer to make, especially when both parties know there is no real rush and the player wants to stay.

VHL Season 67 starting up later this week!
Similar to Be a Pro and role playing games, I think a lot of Canucks fans here would love it just like I have for years. I was originally recruited to the site from over here.

I want to say I'm passing on this game, but I know I won't be able to stop myself. I basically need to have the newest one every season, and there are no other options. EA obviously knows this, which is why they don't add a ton every season.
I'm really hoping for that engine upgrade in NHL 21, but who knows if it will be any better. I know there's still glitches, etc in the Madden and FIFA games.

I love all 3 of them, to be honest.
The 3rd one, I'd prefer if one of the stripes were white, like the picture quoted above, but I'm fine with it as well.
Everyone's complaint with our current jersey's was the 'Vancouver' over the top, and they took it out. So, that's a solid plus for me. The skate one is obviously fire because majority love it already and now we get an updated Adidas version of them.
The 3rds, like I said, I do like them. I'm not completely sold on the logo yet, but I mean, having white for the ice part of it does make a lot of sense. Before the stick was white and the background was blue, yet the background is supposed to be the 'rink' part of it, so it makes more sense this way.
What I really want is to see all 3 of these in full gear and even on the ice. Opinions can change a lot from that.

There's got to be more to this story. While still really dumb, leaving your kid in the car for 20 minutes would maybe be understandable. Like not acceptable, but you'd be like, okay maybe some $&!# went down or something.
But 9 hours? That's got to be on purpose, or drug related or something. How do you just forget for that long about your own kid?

I don't see how it can be anyone other than Kucherov. Nobody has gotten that many points in awhile. It doesn't matter who's team he's on.
I mean, it should be Kuch, but I can definitely see the players voting for McDavid. They're the ones who are on the ice with these guys.
-
Should and always be Bo Horvat. He works hard, he's always doing the big team things. Interacting with fans, making sure guys are involved, very vocal on the bench and in the locker room. He's always at the end of the high fives after wins and even losses when everyone skates off the ice to the locker room.
It's just been pretty damn clear that he is the leader.
If Pettersson does get it though, I wouldn't be mad. But it's probably inevitable anyways that he eventually gets an A.
That being said, you don't need a letter to lead. Even the guys on the team said it doesn't really matter who has the C on their jersey, as they all lead in the their own ways. The vocal guys will always be vocal.

Tbh the only reason I have a ps4 is for kingdom hearts remixes. Next gen consoles have been terrible as far as game quality.
What?
God of War
Uncharted: A Thief's End
Horizon: Zero Dawn
Red Dead Redemption 2
Spiderman
Super Mario Odyssey
Zelda: Breath of the Wild (I know this one is on Wii U as well, but it's better on Switch. Plus, technically for me it wasn't on Wii U. It didn't work on my Wii U.)
Smash Bros: Ultimate
Monster Hunter: World
Nier: Automata
Those are the notable ones I can recall which I've played at least. Lots of quality there for the PS4 and Switch. Then there's others I've heard are awesome like Detroit: Become Human, etc.

alright CDC, lay it on me.
I played NHL 18 quite abit but overall found it average. I mainly play franchise with some HUT thrown in. Is 19 worth it for essentially those 2 game modes alone or should is stick with 18 until 20. Seen alot of mixed reviews online.
I got bored of 18 but have been playing the hell out of 19. Mostly EASHL and Franchise with some HUT mixed in.

I just won the cup in 21/22 with this roster. Created Hughes before starting at like 75 overall with low elite status. Didn't change anything else and by 2022 playoffs this was my roster:
Goldobin (82) - Horvat (90) - Boeser (91)
Marleau (83) - Pettersson (91) - Dahlen (84)
Leipsic (81) - Lind (82) - Virtanen (81)
Gadjovich (79) - Gaudette (78) - True (76)
Hughes (87) - Pietrangelo (91)
Tanev (85) - Juolevi (87)
Hutton (80) - DeMelo (76)
Stecher (74)
Demko (88)
Markstrom (84)
Hughes won playoff MVP. Lol.
I did make the conference finals and lose a couple seasons ago but this is the first time winning the cup. All through simming.

Recommend any good single player games with it? I'm not really an online guy.
With the Aim Controller, or just PSVR in general?
Farpoint is the alien shooter game that the Aim Controller was originally bundled with. That game has a single player and also some online, but I've never played it. I've heard it was one of the best VR games until Firewall came out.
Skyrim VR was decent, but as someone who already logged over 100 hours on the game since it came out in 2011, I just can't do it anymore...even with the VR immersion. It's still Skyrim. It's awesome being able to shoot guys with magic, actually being able to point around with your hands....and actually having to draw out your bow and arrows etc in VR....but it's still just Skyrim to me.
Wipeout VR is amazing. Great racing game for VR. There's a bunch of different VR comfort settings you can toggle to help with the nausea as well. Definitely not the best game to jump right into VR though, because it's like a &^@#in' roller coaster. I could only really play it like 15-20min at a time per day until the sickness went away after a week.
Dirt VR is great as well. I heard DriveClub VR is fun, same with Gran Turismo.
I haven't played a ton of VR stuff yet. Firewall is the only game i"ve played with the Aim Controller so far, so it's really the only true recommendation I can give for it. But it's already widely known as probably the best VR game out, and it just came out. So that's some high praise.

Yeah I was looking at the aim and it seems weird just holding a triangle. Do the buttons feel out of place or are they easy to get used to.
It actually feels surprisingly great. It's easy to use and you learn the button locations pretty quickly.
At first I was actually confusing myself because I didn't know where a button was while the VR headset was on.....so I was taking it off and looking at the controller. Then I realized I could just hold up the controller IN VR and look. Lmao.

[Speculation] Canucks interested in Tyson Barrie
in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Posted
I've done it where I stayed home on the PC and watched SportsCentre all day. There's really no point to it.
Honestly, it's better just to go to school or work and then check all the trades later, or just look at them once they come in. Easier to do that than to stress over rumors and piles of people on CDC/the internet arguing them.
