  1. yes, if both play in Utica, the 2 of them likely will be on different lines as left wingers, so they will help develop and give confidence to the others there. Kole Lind as an RW will be one in particular that would benefit. aslo Macewen as center Gadjovich, Jasek as RW
  2. The great thing here is if Baer and Goldy slide through and they play in Utica , we have 2 top and 2 bottom 6 NHL caliber forwards to sub in for injuries which wasn't the case for the past 4 years. Little more concern with the D depth if Biega is taken however
  3. Just think that 2 years @ 3.3m with 5 concussions sends up all the red flags. This may be a bounce back year but they've all gone down that road before. Biega would be one that may go. good cap hit, knows his roles and plays it well
  4. First of all kudos to JB and Green for rewarding Gaudette as the easy road to take would be to send him down. So now we have Schaller, Eriksson, Leivo and Gaudette that may rotate in and out of the lineup. Out of those 4 Schaller is the best fit for a grinding 4th liner/ PK, has chemistry with Beagle and Motte Eriksson is the best fit for a bottom 6 role and the PK and had a decent camp Gaudette is the best fit for a 3rd line centre/winger to give us 3 scoring lines depending on who we play and is ready to move into a top 6 role if needed Leivo is the best fit for 3rd to 4th liner that has chemistry on the PP Baer unfortunately didn't fit the top 6, still was not completely in game shape from his injuries and likely will clear waivers. He will get time in with Utica and if/when injuries happen to our top 6 he'll probably be the first call up. Have to think a trade is coming soon for one of our bottom 6 guys that actually may be a trade-able asset. JV, Leivo
  5. Have to agree here. nothing else makes sense outside of giving him some time in the AHL to play through all of his current injury history and when injuries happen hopefully he's completely ready to go. For another team to take on his cap with the concussion history would be quite a surprise.
  6. OK this makes no sense unless they don't want to take a chance on his concussion history and pass the risk to another team. He easily fits into the top 6-9 and a great option for one of our PP's. Benning even said " we have 3 line that can score" . we don't if he gets claimed or sent through He's also a pretty responsible 200' player so his injury history has to be the kicker here. Hope this is just fake news, as Schaller or goldy or both should go before Baer.
  7. He came in last saying he wanted to be that frustrating player to play against. he needs to get back to his roots, forget about scoring, fore-check like hell, drive to the net, and get under everyone's nerves. That's the JV people want to see, so here's hoping for some signs tonight.
  8. plus his contract year. If there was a time to show everything you've got this is it.
  9. Certainly don't see any sign of a trade and he definitely wont pass through waivers. Just have to wait it out for his confidence and consistency to kick in...
  10. His tool box is so full of little things it'll make your head spin!
  11. These 3 have played well together this camp, maybe not all on the same line, but will be interesting to see how this works.
  12. If Brock is still inactive when the season starts Ferland- Petey- Leivo Miller- Bo- Pear Baer- sutter- Gaud Eriksson- Beagle - Jake spare- Goldy - Motte Waive Schaller keep the pairs together... Guad- Baer, Petey - Ferland, and the complete Bo line even though he has a bad game last night With Fanny man out we just keep our 7 D When Brock comes back, than we have to waive/ trade Goldy, unless he makes an impact seriously no way Motte , Jake, Eriksson get waived as they have all had good games , especially Eriksson. He actually does calm down players like Jake, Gaud, Leivo etc... He lines up well with fast aggressive forwards like Bo and Pearson last year He may not be the first in on the fore check , but he's smart, breaks up plays, great stick and is one of our best passers on the team as well as one of our top defensive forwards. Lord knows we need that right now...
  13. Its just an immature thing to do, if indeed it happened. The question leafs mnmt have to ask themselves .. is he really captain material or should it go to Tavares or someone else. Thinking he’s not ready at this point for that responsibility....
  14. I vote for one 'JV day' each month where no one is allowed to complain, analyse, recommend, or arm-chair coach the young lad. (including me)
  15. Be interesting to see the lines and where Green is with JV, Eriksson, Leivo and Pearson.....
  16. Not a bulldog though as #55 scooped that one years ago:) Maybe a Greyhound, fastest one the bunch!
  17. If all players remain healthy and no trades exist the bottom 6 should play out something like this Eriksson, Sutter, Pearson, Beagle, with Leivo , JV , and Motte fighting for the 2 remaining spots Eriksson, Pearson and Sutter have been the top 3 of this bunch IMO , but all have had their good games so far Gaudette gets sent down as a first call up because he should be in the lineup Schaller waived and no one will pick him up Goldy waived or traded (likely waived) with a 50% chance or so of getting claimed when he's included with everyone else on waiver day . Unless he has a couple of stand out games his future is definitely in jeopardy. - if we lose him c'est la vie as he could still be 2nd or 3rd as a call up if he doesn't get claimed As per usual we keep 2 extra D's in Fantenburg and Biega,
  18. Eriksson and Gaudette have chemistry, so i hope they find a way to keep Adam with the big boys. Have liked Eriksson's calm and patient play with puck so far as well.....no sarcasm!
  19. we had a little more push back at the end of the period so maybe the jitters are gone for the AHL'ers
  20. Bo pumping the locker room! Lets get the season started!
