  1. Awwwww poor Mikey didn't get to run the club his way .... it's all everyone's fault but his own. Stupid owners interfere and dumb players didn't play good. We were one injury away from the cup. If we get some decent skill on this team shot blocking won't be a problem as we won't be constantly chasing the pucks and back on our heels. People get carried away about this shot blocking thing. That's what happens when you have little skill and teams take the piss to you on a regular basis. Your players get hurt because effort is the only tool they have to stay in the games. Get some skill and we won't have to block shots when our players have the puck on their sticks.
  2. I try not to be I know I've got huge expectations but I've felt we should have sacrificed what we needed to for a player that has some pop. I know it sounds simplistic but these guys can make the difference. We don't know because we've haven't tried. So, I'm not wrong yet.
  3. Either you trust him or you don't at this point.
  4. I agree. Conversation destroyer, he's like an uncommissioned bodyguard for his mates he mentioned earlier.
  5. How so, there was a total backlash on CDC that Ebbett was such a mainstay on the roster but yet there he was every game. Did AV really think he was good because he even played 3rd line and 2nd line center a fair number of times. Now he's not even in the league. I think that says something. I was like a lot of CDC'ers that were peeved at AV until I realized he's got nothing to work with and did a fantastic job for what was given to him.
  6. Well at least Torts called MG out on the crappy personel he had to work with. AV did it by just playing Ebbett everywhere in the line-up everyday. AV's method of getting thru didn't work obviously, at least Torts tried something different to get through. MG take a hint please. MG seems to think any team can win the Cup, it just comes down to coaching I guess. When you're fighting within yourselves it's pretty hard to accomplish anything amongst others.
  7. Ha ha, I guess so. Sardy, the friendly sardine is rumored to be inline.
  8. I'm glad you believe that. I wish I could. If you care to listen again he says he could be let go but then he goes directly on to blame the team that severely underperformed. Severely underperformed, are you kidding me this team he's assembled is garbage? They performed exactly how most others and myself thought they would. What does he think, this team should be battling Anaheim and SJ for first in the division? For the record he states that everyone in the organziation will be re-evaluted, including himself, every year. I've heard it 6 times now. I guess allowing that he could be let go for a horrific season is cause for some to rejoice and welcome him back with open arms. Pretty damn easy to live his life. A couple hollow words and everyone is back on board.
  9. I agree our drafting is as high as ever and we're at the highest level we've ever been but we've also had the highest level of committment from the owners as well. MG has had the power to do whatever he has wanted. MG's story changes from interview to interview but the one that never changes is any culpability on his part. He points fingers at everything else from changing landscape, CBA, AV, Owner, Torts, cap ceiling, refs, NHL Brass, travel, injuries, schedule, the list goes on and on. The thing I can't get by is it sounds like he's trying to claim that he thinks this team is good or something, and somehow people like John Tortorella are conspiring against him. He's been here 6 six years with the mandate to make our team better. When he took over our offence looked like garbage. In 6 years knowing he has had to improve this he's brought in Higgins, Hansen, Santorelli, and Kassian to turn this team into a juggernaught. Terrible. He really seems like a petulent child that always has things go his way and he's upset if they don't. Also, since MG hired Torts, shouldn't he have known how he was going to coach before he signed him for 5 years? How this can be on anyone's head but Gillis' is absurd to me? Even if Torts isn't playing to the strengths of the team he's coaching how he sees fit. It's not like he came here with an agenda to destroy out team from the inside. If he wasn't the guy AV should have been kept for another year. MG should have done his due diligence, and if he didn't agree with it and was pressured by ownership he should have stood up and said so like a man instead of just collecting a paycheck for total clusterf##k year.
  10. Like the last 2 years? How do people think MG going back to his old ways is beneficial in any sense of the word? Unbelievable. MG pointing fingers at everyone but himself. People are so gullible (Gillable). It's like watching House of Cards or something. Look at all the sheep lead to the slaughter. He is lawyering the heck out of everyone here. It's mind boggling. Callling out a coach that he himself hired because he can't turn his sack of misfits into champions. Lol, it's beyond sad now.
  11. Fire that clown, bring in some decent scoring players, and let's play some hockey.
  12. Mike Gillis is a pompous fool. I'm done with this clown. Has nothing to do with him of course. Idiot.
  13. Blame everything but the problem right? These players can't get it done. Whether anything gets done to rectify that. We'll see over the summer I guess.
  14. One thing MG has never gotten through his thick skull. The Sedins are great but if you want a pay a guy $7m per year as a first line center that can't score (Henrik) you'd better alott the funds correctly and have a super high powered offence and a lot of extra weight there (goal scoring) ... not overpaying your horrific defence that sucks in both ends anyway.
  15. He does a run a hockey school. I don't think it's too out of line. Like he said, he's been given the number one, he hasn't earned it yet. That seems pretty logical to me.
  16. This makes no sense. You can't play serious hockey without a backup can you?
  17. The problem was that the NHLPA and Owners all agreed to a new contract re-designing what those contracts meant to the league. It's borderline illegal. In most businesses you can't just restructure the rules on existing contracts. However, the NHL is a monopoly so they could do it. Even though it may have been somewhat obvious cap circumvention it should have been perfectly legal. In MG's mind he signs a contract in which Luongo plays until he's 42. There is nothing in his power he can do if he retires. He shouldn't be penalized for someone else decision. Those clauses should have been grandfathered in, or not allowed in the first place. Maybe they should sue Lou if he retires early? Just joking.
  18. One of the first rules of hockey. Once the ref makes a decision he's not chaning his mind so shut your mouth.
  19. Between the two of them ... why have two big lacklustre defenders? One is great, two is dumb.
  20. When I don't think about it I keep cheering for us to score.
  21. I see crosschecks, I see blindsides, and I see I fist to the face.
