  1. If I'am Torts I sitll read them the riot act. We're playing this game good so far.
  2. The puck just hopped 15 inches in the air off something on the ice when it was travelling flat.
  3. Did anyone see much of a Luongo vs Smith debate? Olympic hopefuls and all. I saw Turco on Hockey at noon hyping Smith's puck playing skills. Luongo has gotten a lot, lot better in the last couple years.
  4. You can do it! I haven't had the ole Dominoes for forever.
  5. Me too, really he's going to be succesful if he gets open space in the opposing end and can use his body. He just has to learn how to get there but doens't know how to do it at this level yet? He just expects the puck will end up on his stick now, it's like asking one of us to get open in the offensive end. Once he learns that though and adds that skill however he does it. He'll be a beast ...
  6. That's true, we'd better not give them PP's. They move it around well.
  7. Sounded like Alberts is getting a one game tryout and they will decide after tonight. Upon reflecting on that sentence gives me more cause for concern over Edler's injury. Could be out awhile although Gilman said he's being re-evaluated again as if it could improve so who knows.
  8. It could. A lot of players play better without the pressure of being a leader.
  9. I think you're absolutely right about Zack here but I think the Twins should take some heat for not being able to adapt. Really difficult to field a good team when you're two highest players need to play with each other and can't adapt to a certain player who is scoring goals at a torrid pace. What I'm saying is that it would seem reasonable that two superstars would be able to more easily adapt to Kassian than Kassian to them. I really wanted Zack to succeed but the more I watch him the more he has a lot to learn. I believe this is a true power forward project and we won't really see the real player for several years. He's still stuck in junior style where he doesn't do any extra work and isn't satisfied just playing defence. He's forever hanging out on the half boards waiting for the puck and when he gets it he hasn't figured out how to rush it or create instances where he can be succesful. I do see glimpses though and as he matures he still has great potential.
  10. It's an important game as far as the standings go. Hopefully be a hard fought game we win in regulation.
  11. I have to agree with that. I know it seems so easy like EA 2014 or whatever but when your in a position of power use it. Sign a player to 1 million more than he's worth and don't worry abou finding bums that will work for $500,000 less than they're worth. They make millions anyway that should be a clue. I don't even need my calculus to figure that out. It's common sense.
  12. Sure it's a bargain but I'm starting to realize bargains don't mean anything in the NHL besides it's good if you have them. It's not like ordinary people having to make it work. Everyone has the same amount of money. We need the better players to win. Bargains are a bonus not a requirement. If you have too many players on too high of priced contracts you have to start looking at that. Not before or you don't have a reason to find bargains. That's why they're called bargains. We're the Canucks, not the dollar store.
  13. Spezza next year. 7 years $50m. We're awesome.
  14. It's a bad contract all things considered, Gillis hasn't thought about the future at all. Problem when you give poeple $60 million dollars to spend and they aren't accountable in that they can sign players for whatever money they want and then just move on with millions in their pocket. Humans are dumb and I'm one of them.
  15. Nice could have got more air but good effort after a fight on skates. I'm coming around on Bieksa. Guy you love to have on your team. I forget that sometimes.
  16. This team needs a shake up as some have mentioned. Also, as the more astutue people have mentioned Gillis still seems to be fulfilling a role as player GM to players that aren't his contractables. I get the idea in real life as the contracts portray to hapiness but's it detrimental to the team. I can't see us acheiving success until he's gone because he's stubborn and his law degree also makes it obvious that chasing success would be detrimental to his chances at not blowing this job. He has no incentive to make this team better, he's selling out, the team is moderately wining, and he tied his own hands. Get rid of him. He will be beter once he learns this lesson.
  17. Watching this post game coverage. People that rag on Sestito are completely out to lunch.
