  1. Can't score 3, as in it's been 3 years now that MG hasn't addressed our lack of scoring.
  2. If someone on the offence breaks their stick in the middle of a PP play is it alriight as a defenceman to clear the stick to the boards with your stick?
  3. Life is just not fair. I mean I mean whatev
  4. He's a first rounder, he's a big player, a defensive specialist, which is what you need to be able to do to play in the NHL, and he was voted one of the most NHL ready players last year. What's so implausible that a player with that cred can make the NHL on a team that needs centers? It's like you've been doing nothing but watching practices from all the teams or something and you have this incredible insight. Care to tell us which rookies will make the NHL this year?
  5. Really it depends on how Torts uses the defenceman he has. If like AV, Tanev gets bombed around as an afterthought to attempt to cover Edler's blunders and then given up on again it won't hurt to lose him that much. If John can figure where our dmen are playing everyday and also create a role where Tanev plays everyday he's worth 1.4 - 1.7(+), and that's being generous considering he hasn't produced points and didn't play a lot the last few years. 29 25 38 games played in the last 3 years.
  6. Should be pretty interesting to see how Lou fares this year. Of course we should see a great circus show when we have our typical poor start and Lou's save percentage is in the .880 range.
  7. I find it extremely interesting how people view the "coaching" philosphy. While I agree that high school kids need to be pushed an adult athlete also needs a certain push as well. I've played higher level sports for many years and as an adult you need a peer or someone you respect to focus your attention. There are even more serious concerns like children and mortgages when you are an adult. Someone has to make the game more important than your life at that moment. Regardless, I think any coach that gets the players to re-evaluate what they bring and where they can improve will greatly benefit the team. I'm all for bringing in a guy like Tippett that can teach Bieksa how to make better plays, the moreso if we keep Edler.
  8. Bieksa knows jack squat about that. Nice comment from a guy that's been sheltered all of his life on one team and has never (ever) really had to be accountable. From day one he's been a nice guy that tries hard and sticks up for his teammates. When we sucked no one cared about his defence and then AV gave him a free pass for 7 years. What the hell does he know about what he needs? Obviously he knows nothing or he'd try playing defence once in a while. Sounds to me like exactly what's wrong with that dressing room. Lol at K.B., "Yo, we don't need a coach man look at me I'm fracking Lidstrom, we don't need no stinking coach".
  9. I wish there was a family guy throwing up gif I could post here. #idontknowanythingabouthockey ... did I do that right
  10. Or how about Gallagher, McIntyre, and Botchford? They can ask themselves dumb questions. Imagine the stupid articles they could write then.
  11. Ha ha, I guess Don has a chance of remembering where he put it. I think 80 years of age is a little too much for the rigors of coaching in the NHL though. Also, I don't think he's kept up with hockey since the 70's and 80's, he's still living in the past.
  12. Gillis has said he's in no decison to make a decision and Tippett has guarnateed he won't make a decision until the Phoenix thing is settled, until the end of June at the very least, and I've heard probably longer. http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2013/05/22/what-does-the-future-hold-for-dave-tippett/
  13. Except Henrik doesn't shoot/can't score, Roy is a passer who doesn't score much, Kesler has been a bandaid and our wingers suck. What on earth makes you think those three guys should make us score a bunch of goals?
  14. Sure it's relevant in that it's good hockey but it doesn't prove they're dominant at the NHL level. The guys you mentioned all lost the opportunity to be in the tournament they really wanted to be in and worked for all year with the same guys. Playing in a losers tournament for one or two weeks (while the real tourney is still on) with a bunch of new teammates while exciting and fun is just a totally different thing. As far as upgrades I just hope it's someone that can score some goals and not another Higgins type player. Our top goal scorer last year was 68th in the league. Probably number one the list though will be Raymond or his replacement. I know you can't get players off of trees but if you're spending to the cap you've got to add goal scoring if you need it somehow. Tough decisions need to be made. I've heard so many excuses from lack of prospects to timing to it's a slow market it's a feeling out process to trades are harder than you think, etc. etc.
  15. Well I agree but what Gillis is saying sounds to me like we aren't getting any upgrades. He's basically admitted he's got no options because he doesn't want to move anyone. Where are these upgrades going to come from if the whole core is kept intact? Raymond's rights, Ballard, and a first? Unless we bring in a bonifide player that can score goals for the top 6 I see up repeating exactly what we have the last two years. I like the fact that we could see some new ideas and the enthusiam that comes with it but it isn't enough IMO. I'd rather have a $6-$8 million dollar a year goalscorer in the top 6 instead of Luongo, Ballard, and Booth. Gillis doesn't seem to hold the same opinion so I will watch if yet another two grinder/reclaims can turn us into champs. Finally, I gotta laugh at the suggestion that playing well in the world's has any translation value to the NHL. Ha ha ha. Okay I'm good.
  16. People act like this is some great team and all we need is a coaching change to lead this group of elites.
  17. I'd love to see what Tippett would do with a better offence and the twins in particular. Failing that MG gets the required skill up front, which I am reserved to, Tippett, will be excellent at getting the most of our slew of third liners. He'll make damn sure this team plays defence properly for a change.
  18. Yep, we'll be seeing a lot of the same next year unfortunately.
  19. Wooo hooo. Good job by AV but thank goodness we can all move on. Newell and Bowness were garbage in my not so humble opinion as well. So happy Brown is gone, and our defence sucked too so good riddance.
  20. Not a big fan of the losing

    1. Luongo

      Luongo

Last year's Game 6 was as hurt as I've ever been hurt by this team.

Losing is terrible for sure, but at some point, you can't ignore some of the flaws this team has.
