  1. I will probably make the trip down a few times to see them play. If minor hockey ever has games and tournaments again i am usually down in abbotsford a lot. My kids team would love it.
  2. Lets be honest, he is pretty terrible defensively. Not because of his plus minus as that is a pretty mediocre stat at the best of times. He just isnt good in his own zone and his decision making defensively is pretty bad. He wasnt drafted to be a defensive guy though. Just needs the right partner, a true #1 d with size and a two way game to let him do what he does best.
  3. Sometimes you have to give young players a bit of responsibility though to see how they respond. There is no perfect time to do that or even a good time. But the only reasonable time is after you have been eliminated.
  4. I think moving the AHL team to Abbotsford is a good move overall. Not without its potential pitfalls but logistically better.
  5. You have to focus on the destination too if you actually want to get there though. Therecis nothing "winning culture" about this team the last 7 years. A few meaningless wins at the end of a season isnt what a winning culture means. Winning very often only comes after the agony of losing.
  6. Abbotsford Be Patient With Us Fans and Media We Are &^@#ing Prospects Its a bit long but captures my thoughts.
  7. I dont "want" to lose games ever either. I just have varying degrees of caring if they lose if there is a potential benefit attached in a lost season.
  8. I was hoping for the Okanagan but i just wanted to be able to see our prospects all the time haha
  9. Again, I didnt say tank. I said take a look at young players and see what they can do. Its not tanking its development. Winning games after you have been playoff eliminated is a nice to have but should not be the main priority. Building for the next year should.
  10. Play kids. Win great. Lose no big deal. Thats not tanking. Tanking is purposely losibg games. The reality is many recent cup winners have at some point tanked to get a top player. Its kind of almost an expected part of building a cup capable team nowadays, right or wrong ethically. Maybe I have just been a suffering fan so long that I would rather see the team win a cup by being a bit shady than only winning the moral high ground.
  11. Not getting a top 3 spot did cost us a lot in the long run though. Same as picking Juolevi over several guys still on the board at that pick did.
  12. Different environment when you have won a cup though. In the building phase he was lights out good.
  13. Not McDavid really, other than if they had actually startex the rebuild when they should have. Matthews wasvi believe the year they went on a huge winning streak at the end to push themselves out of the running. Should have played kids and if they won great if they lost so be it. But kept just icing the vet lineup after being playoff contention eliminated.
  14. A $5000 dollar fine for punching Buchnevich and nothing for dangerously slamming Panarin to the ice. Makes that Edler suspension seem like even more of a joke than it was originally. Parros is a clown. And the DoPS is a joke. Wilson should have been gone for the year. Hopefully the Rangers decide that a 5k fine is worth injuring him severely in the next game. I dont believe inpurposely injuring a player but I make an exception after that joke. Someone cross check him in the face and put him out for the year since the league wont hold a goon like him accountable.
  15. The Canucks should have been rebuilding at that point. Probably would have had a good shot at McDavid. They blew their chance for Matthews too.
  16. So the Oilers drafting is the bar to consider Benning a flawless drafter? Come on lol
  17. They also drafted not one but two elite, game changing players. Benning has drafted some gems in the later rounds but has also discarded a lot of them with littke to nothing to show for it that helps the roster now or in the future. The end result is the same as busting on those picks.
  18. Thats why i said drafting has been good but not godly or cant miss to the point where his deficiencies in managing the cap, pro scouting, contract negotiations, roster building, and asset management should be ignored or excused.
