There is always such thing as trading high on a player. He is not nearly as big a garbage player as people here think. Benning didnt seem to want to sell high on him. Didnt he say he expected him to take a step forward but didnt so they decided to move him? A better time if he wasnt in thd plans would have been in the offseason. They definitely woukd have gotten more than Highmore for him then.

The point is hockey is a game of mistakes. All players make them. Finding a clip of a boneheaded defensive miscue or blown assignment is possible with every player. Gaudette isnt perfect of course but no player is. I have seen in his time in Vancouver plenty of good positioning and defensive plays and plenty of not so good ones. Again, every player has them. Your argument is garbage. Point out a mistake for one player and extrapolate that out to his entire game but ignore any bad play from a player you decide is good. Thats just biased subjectiveness.

The Canucks just need to get back to playing their game. They do need to break out of their zone more effectively. They need to do better winning puck battles and defending a bit more aggressively. To be fair, they have looked tired as the game goes on and thats kind of understandable with the covid thing. It does affect their ability to play physical too. I think they can absolutely win this game though.

But when people do give opinions on what they think should have been done differently they are told hindsight is 20/20, etc. Many people that complain about Benning, Green, Loui, etc. complained just as much at the time though. My mom was a great cook back in the day. Now my wife and I get to cook for her. She likes it or at least is good at pretending she does haha.

I am unwell because i can see serious misteps by Benning and you cant? That seems a bit personal. Most of the cards he has been dealt can be traced back to his lack of ability to follow a plan, flip flopping between trying to prop up an aging group and trying to rebuild. Or him giving out terrible contracts. Or his shaky pro scouting ability. Benning is the king of unforced errors. You think Benning is perfect and has never made a mistake. You are entitled to that opinion. I think there are a lot of potential GM's who would have this team far ahead of where it has gone under Benning. I amalso entitled to that opinion. If you want to make it about someone's mental health then sorry bud but there are years of your posts on here that would make you lose that contest.

Here is the thing. Just because you disagree with an opinion doesnt make it invalid. The Canucks are a cap maxed team that have been one of if not the worst performing teams over the past 7 years. They have drafted some good players for sure but have also had a few pretty big misses. EP is the only one who could remotely be described as a superstar at this point. Hughes is not very good defensively and needs to improve to be considered one. Demko has simply not had a long enough or consistent enough run yet to be considered one. Boeser is a really good player but not a superstar. Meanwhile the Canucks also lost out on both McDavid and Matthews who can both be considered superstars. Add in the balance of contracts handed out by Benning, his overall trading record, and his pro scouting and you get a below average GM. The 94 team and the 2011 team both had vastly superior supporting casts to any iteration under Benning. On either of those teams maybe Motte makes the 4th line. Other than that, not one of the bottom 6 or bottom 3 D even make those teams. I understand you are perhaps the biggest canuck homer on cdc but really an objective eye would question a lot of what Benning has done or hasnt done. This is not a workplace bud. Its not remotely the same. Blindly supporting the team so peoples feelings dont get hurt just isnt realistic. Anyone who gets worked up about someone criticizing the canucks needs to realize it comes with the fan territory.

How is his statement worthy of a ban? Its pretty true actually. Criticizing the team, the GM, the coaches, and the direction the team is heading is a valid opinion. Supporting a team doesnt mean you automatically like everything they do. And the whole point of cdc is it is a place to express opinions. You arent a mod because there would only be maybe 20 pro benning rah rah guys left here if you had the power to ban people.

Not really. Knowing what someone else individually watches is impossible when you dont know them. Understanding how sports training actually works is not the same thing because the process is no different from one person to the next. Athletes conditioning, strength training, etc. is a well known pretty standard process that revolves around what they do off the ice, field, etc. Its not even remotely the same thing.

Shady cap circumvention in Toronto

I dont blame GM's for doing it. Its only possible because the CBA is so poorly constructed.
