  1. Or they could suck this year while having all their big guns on ltir, pick top 10, get their top guys back plus a top young player and bounce back next season. Knowing Vegas, this is what will happen
  2. Tuch is way more value than Pearson. More like Garland. Podkolzin/Krebs probably pretty similar.
  3. So trying every possible combination of players together and/or moving up the one player that has clearly been your best forward is great coaching now?
  4. Horvat could easily do this and it would create movement elsewhere too. Podz or Hoglander could probably be groomed to do that job effectively too.
  5. Ya Chiasson is a good net front guy. The problem is that is all he really brings. He slows his line down 5 on 5 and really brings nothing you want in your bottom 6. A coach not panicking about losing his job would not have Chiasson on PP1 without other guys who can score at will like McDavid and Draisaitl
  6. #FREEHORVAT He is underrated offensively and overrated defensively. Should be 1C on this team with EP and Garland on his wings.
  7. Chychrun is suffering from a team that is complete garbage. Even if OEL was still there they would be just as $&!#ty as they are now and he would be struggling. I can’t remember ever seeing a $&!#tier nhl team.
  8. No that’s King. Baumgartner is the D and PK. Shaw is more an associate coach.
  9. Hughes has been much improved defensively. I think someone (likely Shaw) has been teaching him how to use all the things that make him an elite offensive player (skating, passing, vision, etc) on the defensive side of the ice. I don’t expect him to be a top defensive defenseman. If he consistently does the above though it’s more than good enough without sacrificing his offense too much. Always felt that’s what he needed. As much as we hate Duncan Keith, that’s exactly what Keith did to become an elite level two way dman.
  10. The only people who want to fill the team with two way players as a goal are Benning and Green. If EP, Podz, Boeser, etc can simply outscore their defensive flaws that’s a win for the team.
  11. This is exactly why they didn’t blow it down. I can see it from their perspective. Goalies would start dropping their glove on purpose to get a whistle.
  12. I don’t think it was necessarily anything malicious. It just so rarely happens that it looked like the ref had no clue what he was supposed to do. The thing to me is that really should be a common sense moment. Blow the whistle and protect the goalie there.
  13. That shot hits his exposed hand or a stick does or a skate does. I mean it’s a no brainer to stop the play immediately.
  14. It definitely should be. I think they said it’s only if they lose their helmet. But any piece of equipment should be an instant whistle. That’s dangerous.
  15. I guess you are right. 3 sequences. Does that mean it’s versatile?
  16. I think it’s more just an excuse to play plugs over young players. It’s always been his thing. Probably because he knows he was a lazy self entitled young player himself who had to be broken by Arbour.
  17. Me too. But if I needed a complex problem solved, I am a much bigger fan of one over the other lol
  18. He should be on the PP. And I see no reason why he could not be brought along into a pk role either.
  19. The problem isn’t so much that they don’t have a threat there. It’s that they have completely abandoned even pretending it might be an option or a threat. If you watch how teams PK against us, it’s absolute bush league coaching that could allow an opposing PK unit the opportunity to cheat that much to limit one option and effectively shut down the whole pp. A few years back, one timers and snipes were threats from both sides. That’s a huge difference now. They need both sides and a potential shot from the point to be considered options by the pk. And they need to move around to pull guys out of the box.
  20. Newell Brown needed to go. Replacing him with King though was like firing Einstein and replacing him with Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys.
  21. They have exactly one sequence they use over and over. Miller to Hughes to Petey. Rinse and repeat. Well, two sequences I guess. Miller to Hughes to EP back to Hughes for a hybrid muffin/rainbow arced shot that misses the net.
