  1. On this date in 1970, Jim Morrison found guilty of "open profanity and indecent exposure" after allegedly exposing himself at a concert in Miami in 1969.

Jim Morrison is an over-rated plug of a musician.

The following could be said about many musicians, current and old, but he was an arrogant, drunk, drug addicted, boob who pissed on the floor of the bar and could rarely finish more than a few songs before slurring his way off of the stage.

I admit he and The Doors have some significant hits within the musical revolution, but that doesn't mean he's not over-rated (in my opinion).

I don't think he was quite the artist he wanted to be. I get what you're saying he's over-rated.

But that doesn't mean he wasn't talented. I think he fell victim of his own demons and temptations.

Janis Joplin had a different type of pain. And she used it to just sing with such power and emotion.

In the end she wanted to to be loved, but couldn't love herself, and fell victim to the same temptations as JM did.

Then there's Jimi Hendrix. A virtuoso with the guitar. A master showman. Also plagued by his own demons and temptations. That was truly a tragic loss. All three were.
